ABOUT THE POSITION

As Director of Product Development at BURGA You'll own what BURGA builds next across tech accessories, drinkware, travel and every new category we enter. You report directly to the Founders. This is a role for a builder who ships. We have a strong pipeline of ideas and a factory ready to produce. We need a leader who turns that pipeline into products best in its products class that launch on time, at quality, and sell.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap across all categories, based on sales, sell-through, reviews and return data.

  • Run end-to-end development: trend and feature research, design, prototyping, testing, launch.

  • Remove blockers fast. When a supplier, sample or decision is late, you find another way.

  • Source and manage manufacturers and material suppliers directly. Write sharp technical specs and RFQs, challenge suppliers on materials, price, and certifications.

  • Spot what's working in the market early and bring it to BURGA faster than competitors.

  • Set quality, testing and validation standards together with our factory and QC.

  • Deliver a clean handover for every launch to Supply Chain, E-commerce, B2B, Marketing and Customer Support.

  • Lead and grow the team through honest feedback, real 1:1s and trust. Develop leaders, not just assign tasks.

  • Own and report product KPIs: launches vs plan, on-time launch rate, revenue per SKU, gross margin, time-to-market, defect and return rates.

  • Under you sits the Engineering / Testing team, which you work closely with to develop excellent quality and functionality products.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 7+ years of experience in product development, with a strong focus on fashion accessories, lifestyle products, or consumer tech accessories.

  • 3+ years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, driving high performance.

  • Experience in similar roles such as Head of Product, VP of Product, Chief Product Officer, or Senior Product Manager in physical goods.

  • A sharp, analytical mindset -  you base decisions on evidence.

  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and working with manufacturers and suppliers.

  • A strong eye for design and trends, balanced with commercial judgment.

  • Experience in a fast-growing or scaling company, where you built processes and teams rather than only running existing ones.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Fluent English, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in e-commerce or DTC brands is a significant plus.

  • A track record of bringing innovative products to market successfully and scaling product portfolios across multiple categories.

This role is not for you if:

  • You want a stable, slow-moving corporate pace.

  • You prefer strategy decks over shipping products.

  • You see a missed deadline as normal. At BURGA, a locked date is a commitment.

  • You wait for suppliers, samples, or other teams instead of finding another way.

  • You explain misses with circumstances, other teams, or the factory.

  • You need perfect conditions or complete data before you decide.

  • You'd rather manage tasks than build people and leaders.

  • You avoid hard conversations with your team or direct managers.

  • You follow the market instead of getting there first.

  • You don't use AI or new tools in your daily work.
