The Director of Media Automation will enhance efficiency in media operations by identifying automation opportunities and collaborating with teams to implement AI solutions.

About the Role:

A significant amount of time is spent throughout our media agencies (particularly digital teams) on duplicate data entry and outdated processes that are time-consuming, inefficient and can lead to errors.  These hinder our ability to respond to client requests at pace with accuracy.

As technology evolves including the introduction of GenAI in our business, multiple workstreams and stakeholders within OMG are actively exploring solutions to these challenges.  The Director of Media Automation will specifically support OMG UK in accelerating these efforts through short-term solutions (such as bespoke GPTs tested locally as POCs and rebuilt in Omni Assist) as well as longer term enterprise solutions (such as developing the Planit for the UK market or developing standardized reporting dashboards).

The role is not to provide technical builds but to partner with various development teams (including Annalect, Business Automation and Luna) as appropriate, whilst collaborating with the media teams in agency to understand the challenges and design successful solutions.  The role is also to support the adoption of existing media operations solutions and ensure these are properly used within the agencies.

This role reports into the Partner of Business Operations and also works closely with the Executive Director of Business Operations. There is shared line management of a Manager, an Exec and a Project Manager, and also support available from a Business Analyst in the team.

This is a 9-month fixed term role to accelerate progress in the automation space and also take on  related responsibilities of our Director of Media Operations whilst they are on maternity leave.

key responsibilities
  • Using knowledge of existing media team workflows and by partnering with UK agency teams, identify automation and AI opportunities to improve the efficiencies in outdated processes (with a particular focus on digital media)
  • Scope out opportunities and prioritise them with other stakeholders by looking at the measured impact on the business and level of work involved to implement them
  • Collaborate with 3rd parties (e.g. Mediaocean, Adobe Workfront) or internal teams (e.g. Annalect, Luna, Business Automation) to build new solutions using automation and AI technology
  • Work with the media agency teams to test solutions during the build phase and ensure it fulfils their requirements
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders ensuring everyone is clear on timings and requirements, including hosting the monthly Media Operations meeting to keep them up to date on all projects in this area
  • Create training guides, conduct solution demos and launch communications (working alongside other teams as appropriate) to implement new solutions and tailor these to each agency or team where required to help embed them into their ways of working
  • Monitor the adoption of both existing and new solutions using our recently launched Operational Foundations framework, and gather agency feedback to propose changes that could improve usage
skills & experience
  • Basic understanding of some of the technologies and solutions available to deliver efficiencies including GenAI and the Power Platform with a passion to learn more
  • Media agency experience (digital channels preferable) with hands on experience of legacy processes including digital activation and reporting
  • Good relationship builder and stakeholder management skills
