Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Facilities Management (FM) function in a dynamic business across the international region comprising over 70 sites in EMEA, APAC & LATAM. The successful candidate will be motivated by the prospect of devising and implementing a region wide FM strategy delivering best in class, efficient and consistent service to NBCUniversal's (NBCU) international business units. This will involve developing the FM capability across the region including effective vendor partnerships.
To be successful in the role, the Facilities Director will require expertise in both hard and soft FM, have a strong technical background and be able to demonstrate a proven ability to execute an FM programme across an international business. The Director must have strong leadership, influencing and collaboration skills to be able to motivate and lead in a customer centric environment, together with managing senior stakeholder relationships and partnering with other functions, including Global Real Estate (GRE), Security, Business Continuity & Crisis Management (BCCM) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).
The position sits within Operations and Technical Services (O&T) which is the division that supports NBCU's full portfolio of production, broadcast and media distribution businesses. O&T also provide corporate services such as real estate (GRE), facilities management and security. The focus of this role is the corporate portfolio comprising mainly offices and some technical / storage facilities.
Key Responsibilities
The overarching responsibility for this role is the successful delivery of comprehensive and effective FM services across the international region. This will involve taking a hands-on approach in executing a strategic plan to expand facilities support outside of the core locations ensuring that the strategy is effectively translated into day-to-day operations.

  • Drive operational excellence in the delivery of soft and hard FM services, ensuring that all facilities are optimised for operational efficiency, employee experience and sustainability. Lead a culture of continuous improvement to maintain best in class services to the NBCU international businesses.


  • Implement proactive maintenance strategies in line with industry technical standards and manage the lifecycle of building infrastructure, ensuring that facilities are safe, compliant and operational at all times. Build robust asset maintenance and refresh programmes for inclusion in the Long Range Plan (LRP).


  • Lead and inspire a high-performance team, driving a culture of collaboration, ownership and transparency. Foster continuous learning, professional excellence and personal development within the team through structured coaching and mentoring. Pro-actively develop succession plans.


  • Establish strong, country specific and / or region-wide vendor partnerships. Pro-actively manage vendor performance and ensure relevant KPIs & SLAs are in place across all contracts. In collaboration with Sourcing, devise and implement a vendor strategy to support FM service provisions across the full international region.


  • Assume full accountability for the international region facilities operating budget. Partner with Finance through the budget planning cycle and also management against the annual budget, pro-actively seeking cost efficiencies without a detrimental impact on service levels.


  • Actively engage with internal customers and key stakeholders to develop productive working relationships and deliver effective operational solutions. Build and communicate the business case for inclusion of properties within the international region in the FM programme.


  • Deliver, in partnership with Workplace, key facilities projects across the major international locations providing significant improvement to the employee experience, increase productivity and yield corporate wide savings.


  • Partner with the wider global (US based) O&T organisation to share best practice, leverage resource and deploy best in class technology including the development of the Archibus CAFM platform. Use analytics from data and metrics across the global portfolio to drive service delivery improvements and efficiency.


  • Coordinate with EHS, Security and BCCM groups ensuring safety, efficiency and redundancy programmes are met across all locations and meeting corporate social responsibility and environmental requirements. Lead energy management initiatives to reduce emission and energy use in accordance with corporate goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering or a related field. Relevant professional certification (e.g., IFMA, IWFM, NEBOSH) is highly desirable. Strong technical capability in hard services.
  • 10+ years of experience in facilities management, including leadership experience in an international FM programme. Experience in leading a high-performance, international team within a matrix organisation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills with proven track record of interacting effectively with all levels of management. Confidence to challenge the status quo & lead change.
  • Expertise in managing third-party vendors and developing vendor strategies for cost-effective, high-quality service delivery.
  • Strong financial management capabilities, including budgeting, cost control, and vendor negotiations.
  • Process orientated and results driven with analytical focus and strong data analysis skills.
