Our commitment to pay range transparency fosters an equitable workplace, where everyone can feel valued. The annual compensation range for this position is stated below. The salary offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. Salary Range:

$145,000.00 - $217,400.00

Purpose Statement:  The Director - Global Communications and Community Engagement is a team-builder, change agent, and champion of global brand consistency to elevate the Plexus brand. They will create and guide the strategy that enhance Plexus’ brand presence through a internal/external communication plans and shape community engagement efforts in alignment with our vision and values. This includes collaborating with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to roll out integrated communication strategies for global enterprise initiatives, and managing corporate philanthropy within our Plexus Community Foundation. This leader will develop global public relations strategies to bolster Plexus’ reputation and represent the organization at public events. Monitoring and analyzing communication efforts and community engagement activities will be essential, using key performance indicators to drive improvements. Leading a team of brand communication professionals, this Director will provide strategic guidance to ensure the success of initiatives while collaborating with senior leadership to shape the company's culture and reputation.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Enterprise Global Communications Planning & Execution
    Develop and implement a comprehensive internal enterprise-level communication strategy that effectively and consistency convey the Plexus' vision, values, strategy and imperatives to team members worldwide. Collaborate with executive leaders and consults with cross-functional teams to develop integrated communication plans, aligned with the enterprise transformation initiatives as defined in the Plexus Strategy Deployment process. Lead company messaging in enterprise reports and communication tools, including Sustainability report, Proxy Statement and 10-K, in close partnership and collaboration with key stakeholders.

  • Community Engagement and Partnerships
    Develop and maintain a strategic approach and establish global processes for corporate giving through the Plexus Community Foundation. Lead and oversee all aspects of corporate giving programs, including selecting impactful charitable partners, establishing leadership champions and promoting philanthropic initiatives to drive community impact. Coordinate across regional brand/leadership teams to establish a structure that fuels community engagement across all regions. Champion and lead the strategic approach to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to ensure an inclusive approach to building our culture and establishing strong integration and consistency with community engagement efforts. 

  • Public/Media Relations Strategy & Execution
    Develop comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance the organization's reputation and visibility in the market to be seen as an employer of choice, in partnership with the Director, Global Brand to ensure alignment to strategic brand foundations. Influence and/or lead regional team members that are directly activating and executing against community engagement efforts to ensure consistency content strategies, including overseeing and monitoring global social media content. At times, serve as the Plexus representative in external-facing activities, such as public speaking engagements, media interviews, and industry events.

  • Data-Driven Approach to Optimize
    Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal and external communications, global corporate giving impact, and community engagement efforts. Bring forward strategic recommendations for improvement based on key performance indicators, and in service to building brand awareness and advocacy. Through the use of data, influence global leaders and drive regular updates to senior leadership on communication and community engagement activities and impact.

  • Build and Lead a High-Performing Team
    Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Communications is required; a Master’s of Business Administration is preferred.

  • Ten (10) plus years of related brand-building experience is required, with proven success in rolling out brand messages in a global, matrix organization is required.

  • Proven ability to build talent by inspiring, motivating, and coaching brand and creative teams to deliver high performance.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Travel Requirements:  

  • Less than 20%
