Role Overview

We are looking for a strategic and commercially minded Finance Director to lead financial planning for LSEG’s global Engineering function. This role is pivotal in shaping financial strategy, driving operational planning, and ensuring alignment with LSEG’s transformation agenda and technology investment priorities.

As Finance Director, you will partner closely with senior engineering and finance leaders to deliver actionable insights, optimise investments, and strengthen financial governance across a dynamic, matrixed organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Profitability Analysis: Support cost allocation and margin improvement across business units. Partner with Technology Finance and Engineering Operations to ensure accurate cost attribution and benchmarking. Work with Group Finance to allocate engineering costs accurately across business units and products.

  • Planning & Forecasting: Support and coordinate budgeting, long-range planning, and forecasts for Engineering.  Build models for engineering investments, cloud spend, and transformation initiatives. Align planning with LSEG’s strategic priorities, including Project Beacon and technology modernisation.

  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Transformation leaders to enable informed decision-making. Advise on capital planning, resource allocation, and cost optimisation.

  • Performance Management: Track engineering KPIs, productivity metrics, and cost drivers. Deliver actionable insights through monthly and quarterly reviews.

  • Process Excellence: Drive adoption of Oracle Fusion and EPM tools; champion automation and data visualisation.

  • Leadership: Manage and mentor a global FP&A team, fostering a high-performance culture built on collaboration, integrity and innovation.

What We’re looking for

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics; MBA or professional qualification preferred.

  • Extensive FP&A experience, ideally in technology or engineering within a global organisation.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Oracle Fusion, Anaplan, Tableau or similar tools.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with TBM, TCO modelling, and cost allocation frameworks.

  • Familiarity with cloud economics, agile engineering environments, and capital vs. expense treatment.

  • Ability to simplify complex financial concepts and provide clarity in decision-making.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed organisation with global reach.
