The Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Engineering to lead and inspire our talented engineering teams, driving innovation and excellence across all technical operations.

As the Director of Engineering, you will be a key leader, responsible for transforming the company’s technology vision into actionable strategies. You will oversee engineering teams, including QA, DevOps, Development and BI Teams, ensuring their alignment with organizational goals. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a passion for fostering innovation and collaboration. Your leadership will be critical in driving scalable, reliable, and high-quality engineering outcomes while building a culture of high performance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a strategy aligned with the company’s technology vision and business objectives.
  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team, contributing to cross-functional strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, advocating for best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire engineering teams to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee teams in QA, DevOps, Development and BI Teams, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Develop career growth opportunities and succession plans to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering talent.

Operational Excellence

  • Deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions across all engineering functions.
  • Drive operational efficiency through process optimization, resource management, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Balance technical trade-offs with business priorities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Innovation and Execution

  • Translate complex business requirements into actionable engineering roadmaps.
  • Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable platforms and systems by coordinating with the Architecture Team.
  • Leverage cutting-edge tools, frameworks, and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with product management, and other departments to ensure engineering output aligns with business goals.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and successes to the CTO.
  • Build and nurture cross-departmental relationships to facilitate seamless collaboration and shared achievements.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience managing large, diverse engineering teams, including QA, DevOps, Development and BI Teams.
  • Deep knowledge of modern software development, architecture, DevOps practices, and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Familiarity with development services, including design systems, frameworks, and integrations.
  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire teams to innovate and excel.
  • Strategic thinker with a history of translating vision into actionable engineering plans.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adept at engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in the Casino Industry would be considered an asset.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development leadership roles, with a proven track record of scaling teams and delivering complex software solutions.
