The Director of Technology Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational execution of the Digital Enablement and Operations engineering function for the for the Reuters Technology division. This role is critical in driving the development and enhancement of innovative technology solutions that empower our clients to achieve their goals efficiently and effectively.

About The Role

As our Director of Technology Engineering you will:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the business objectives of the Reuters Technology division.
  • Product Development: Oversee the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge legal technology products and services.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, business systems, and customer support, to ensure alignment and successful product launches.
  • Innovation: Drive technological innovation by staying abreast of emerging trends and integrating new technologies that enhance our product offerings.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest standards of software quality, security, and performance are maintained.
  • Client Focus: Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable technology solutions.

  • Project Management: Proficient in project planning, resource management, and delivering high-quality outcomes within budget and timelines.

About You

To be our Director of Technology Engineering, you are likely to have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Or equivalent of 15+ years in Technology.
  • Proven experience in a technology leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of Reuters products and market trends.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
