The Director, Development - Europe requires strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, strong background in data center design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements, with an emphasis on project/construction management.  In this role, you will function as QTS’ point of contact for new client builds and implementations and liaise between the QTS Sales Team (Account Exec and Sales Engineer), the QTS Operations Team, the QTS Property Development Team, and the Customer.  This role will work closely with existing Development Construction Project Managers to ensure the customers’ needs are carried out to high levels of expectation. 

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage the customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal within each QTS location. 
  • Coordinate with the QTS Property Development team, and supporting specialty consultants, to support customer’s design needs, pricing, customer approvals, & implementation of specific deployment scopes
  • Manage the delivery of these projects, this position aligns clients’ objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts across the QTS organization.
  • Drive effective client relationship management and efficient cost management, with the ultimate goal of delivering the project on time and on budget.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional licenses in Construction Management or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture or Equivalent Industry working experience.  
  • Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities
  • Five or more years of responsibility of data center project construction with large-scale data centers or DC lease providers
  • Ability to Travel throughout mainland Europe on a per project basis coordinating Construction Projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing multiple large, multi-faceted projects.
  • Experience with Construction Health & Safety Knowledge
  • Experience with Customer Deployment Technologies and Equipment

  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff.
  • Ability to influence cross-discipline teams.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth company.
