The Role

At Teneo, we provide expert cyber security strategy, risk and response advisory within a multi-disciplinary environment, working closely with our strategy and communications, risk advisory and restructuring teams across a globally connected platform.

We are seeking highly experienced Cyber Strategy and Risk Directors to join our growing global cyber team. This role is suited to a senior cyber security professional with deep expertise across cyber strategy, risk and technology regulatory domains, including advising organisations on longer-term transformation following strategy and risk reviews. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, supporting clients through complex and high-stakes situations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Director, you will lead client engagements, manage teams across jurisdictions, contribute to business development and collaborate closely with senior stakeholders internally and externally. You will also play a key role in shaping the growth of our global cyber security team and mentoring emerging talent.

  • Bring recognised expertise in cyber strategy, risk and regulatory advisory, shaping strategy and guiding decision-making on critical business issues
  • Drive end-to-end cyber strategy, risk and resilience engagements – from analysis and review through to roadmap development, mobilisation and delivery
  • Act as a trusted cyber advisor to senior stakeholders on critical issues such as M&A, restructuring, complex regulation and geopolitics
  • Build and grow a high-performing team, creating an environment that empowers people, encourages initiative and supports an entrepreneurial mindset

Key Skills & Experience

You will have a strong track record of winning and delivering complex, multidisciplinary engagements across cyber strategy, risk and resilience. The role requires established relationships at both C-suite and senior risk and regulatory levels, alongside a strong understanding of the technologies and tools underpinning cyber risk advisory, delivered in partnership with specialist technology providers.

  • Extensive experience in cyber strategy development, analysis and execution with an understanding of multi-disciplinary risk, business and technological client issues
  • Experience in one or more risk management and governance domains such as risk quantification, enterprise and solution architecture, AI governance, technology and data transformation, M&A and IPO due diligence
  • Experience in cyber and operational resilience with strong understanding of business continuity, crisis management and comms, recovery planning and relevant regulatory regimes and frameworks such as DORA and NIS2
  • Expertise in one or more cyber domains such as data security, identity and access management, security operations, threat intelligence, and cyber and technology regulation
  • Strong credibility with senior stakeholders, including clients, legal counsel, senior cyber and risk professionals, regulators and boards, with the ability to communicate clearly and strategically in sensitive situations
  • A proven leader who builds and develops teams, with experience growing capability, encouraging initiative and creating an environment where people and ideas can thrive
