Opportunity

Brunswick is seeking a director with deep expertise in crisis communications and cybersecurity to join our Crisis & Cyber practice. As a director, you will lead the development and delivery of strategic communications plans and provide senior-level advice to clients navigating their most critical and complex challenges—from high-stakes cyber incidents to  major reputational threats.

You will generate proactive ideas, shape strategic direction, and serve as a trusted adviser to senior leaders at moments where legal, business, and reputational pressures converge. You will play a leading role as the day-to-day contact for clients, while also contributing to business development by leveraging Brunswick’s global network and your own industry relationships.

You will ensure the effective running of account teams by establishing clear roles, managing performance, and ensuring work is delivered to the highest standard. You will work closely with Partners on all aspects of client leadership, including financial management, fee negotiations, and adviser relationships.

About the Role

Advisory & Client Leadership

  • Advise Crisis & Cyber clients on a wide range of issues, including cyber incidents, regulatory inquiries, data breaches, and broader reputational threats.
  • Serve as a strategic counsellor to CEOs, boards, and senior executives during major crises, helping shape responses that protect reputation, maintain trust, and support business continuity.
  • Develop and maintain strong and trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders across business, legal, and technical functions.
  • Craft clear, compelling communications for regulators, policymakers, employees, investors, customers, and media.

Cybersecurity Expertise

  • Provide strategic communications counsel before, during, and after cybersecurity incidents, working closely with technical teams,legal advisers and the media team.
  • Guide clients in mitigating reputational impact from cyber incidents and managing complex stakeholder expectations.
  • Use deep knowledge of the cybersecurity landscape to promote proactive resilience programmes, simulations, and preparedness exercises.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Drive large, complex account teams, setting strategic direction, ensuring quality execution, and maintaining overall accountability.
  • Act as a leader within the Crisis & Cyber practice, sharing insights, supporting Partners, and contributing to practice development and thought leadership.
  • Work seamlessly with colleagues across geographies and specialist offers to support clients facing cross-border legal, regulatory, and cybersecurity issues.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering capability, confidence, and professional growth.

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and secure opportunities to broaden Brunswick’s support for clients, including new crisis, cyber, regulatory, and corporate advisory mandates.
  • Use internal and external networks to uncover insights, shape new business approaches, and contribute to Brunswick’s growth.
  • Serve as a regional expert for Crisis & Cyber, supporting pitches and collaboration across the firm.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years’ relevant professional experience, in crisis communications, cybersecurity incident management; strategy, crisis response, corporate advisory, or a related field.
  • Strong advisory track record within crisis, cyber, or reputation management, with the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, high-stakes environments.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders and boards with clarity, diplomacy, and confidence.
  • Deep understanding of cyber risk, regulatory frameworks, media dynamics, and the interplay between corporate, legal, financial, and political stakeholders.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and strategic messaging skills with the ability to translate complex technical and legal issues into clear, actionable communication.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive media, regulatory, and stakeholder challenges.
  • Ability to connect with and leverage the expertise of colleagues to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary programmes.
  • A strong communicator with high EQ and an engaging, credible presence.
  • A global mindset and experience supporting international businesses or cross-border issues.
  • A balanced combination of creative and analytical thinking, with rigor, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative and collegiate team player who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
