The Role: Director, Business Transformation – Private Markets

The Business Transformation Team is at the heart of reshaping the Asset Management business to meet the demands of a dynamic and competitive landscape. Responsible for driving transformational change across the organisation, this team is focused on helping to enable scalable growth, operational excellence and market leading client experience. As the Director of Business Transformation for Private Markets, you will be at the forefront of driving strategic transformation within our Asset Management business.  Leading a portfolio of high-impact transformation initiatives, you will shape a vision of operational excellence and scalability for the Private Markets business.  This role requires a dynamic leader capable of shaping and executing a comprehensive transformation blueprint, managing a dedicated team, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to position our business for sustainable growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver a comprehensive transformation strategy for Private Markets, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s broader goals and market dynamics.
  • Design and implement scalable, efficient, and client-focused operating models that enhance our ability to respond to evolving market and client needs.
  • Lead, oversee and manage multiple high-impact transformation programmes, ensuring successful delivery against timelines, budgets, and strategic objectives.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team of transformation professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Partner with teams in Investments, Distribution, Product, Operations, and Technology to drive cohesive communication and execution of initiatives across the Private Markets business.
  • Act as a catalyst for change, challenging the status quo and embedding a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Assess market / industry trends and competitor actions to ensure the Private Markets business remains agile and competitive.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • In-depth understanding of private markets, including investment structures, client needs, and market dynamics, gained from experience in asset management,  financial services or consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft and execute complex transformation strategies that deliver tangible business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with a focus on benefit realisation.
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with senior leaders and drive consensus on critical initiatives.
  • Experience in building, managing, and inspiring high-performing teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle complex challenges, navigate ambiguity, and apply critical thinking to deliver pragmatic solutions.
  • Proven success operating within a matrix structure, effectively managing competing priorities and driving cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to engage and align senior stakeholders on transformational priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing competing demands and adapting to rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Outstanding communication skills to articulate complex concepts, present strategic insights, and provide clear updates to senior leadership.
  • Experience in M&A integration is desirable, but not essential.
