Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and driven sales professional to join our Northern Europe team. This role will focus on generating new business opportunities with prospective clients across mainland Europe, with a primary focus on the Dutch Institutional and Wealth, Nordics Institutional, and Belgium.

This is a pure sales role, and the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and converting new client relationships. Our offering spans a comprehensive range of investment services including OCIO, investment mandates, funds, ETFs, and implementation solutions such as transition management, outsourced trading, FX services, and overlay strategies.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

Team member, social skills

  • Being a positive addition to the team (sales team and the Northern Europe team).

  • Networking, meeting new people and building relationships.

  • Appreciating and understanding how to work effectively in an international organisation.

Business & growth development

  • Leading business development efforts across the Netherlands and wider Northern European region by targeting Dutch institutional, Dutch wealth, Nordic institutional, and Belgian client segments.

  • Leveraging an existing, high-quality network to secure initial meetings and building a strong pipeline of opportunities.

  • Developing and executing a tailored sales strategy aligned to the firm’s growth objectives in the region.

  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities across our full capability set, understanding client needs and matching them with bespoke investment solutions.

Relationship management

  • Driving both new client acquisition and long-term relationship development, recognising the extended sales cycles typical of our institutional offering.

  • Maintaining high levels of client engagement throughout the sales journey, ensuring strong conversion rates and consistent follow-up.

  • Cultivating strong internal relationships across global teams to effectively deliver tailored solutions that may extend beyond standard offerings.

Flexibility

  • Understanding and operating effectively within an international organisation, managing across time zones and regional differences.

  • Displaying flexibility with working hours and travel requirements, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Team contribution & collaboration

  • Being an engaged, proactive, and collaborative member of both the Sales and Northern Europe teams.

  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment.

  • Representing the firm professionally and with integrity in all internal and external interactions.

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • HBO or University degree essential.

  • Extensive sales experience in the Dutch financial industry, ideally across a range of services within the financial services value chain.

  • Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, including strategic asset allocation, investment decision-making, order generation, trade execution, settlement, and regulatory reporting.

  • Familiarity with front, middle, and back-office functions, including systems such as Investment Book of Record (IBOR) and Custody Book of Record (CBOR).

  • Solid understanding of current and emerging regulatory trends in the Netherlands and wider Europe.

  • Wide investment knowledge with excellent understanding of funds, strategies and structures in EMEA.

  • Proficiency in Dutch, English, and German (speaking, reading, writing) essential. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively and knowledgeably with both colleagues and prospective clients.

  • Highly polished communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.

  • Projects self-confidence, authority and enthusiasm.

  • Natural leadership ability and charisma.

  • Inspires confidence and respect; is trusted, and strengthens morale.

  • A self-starter, builds working partnerships across the business, prospects and clients.

  • Find ways to encourage others to feel ownership of solutions; wins over prospects, clients and suppliers.
