Who you are:

The Director, Brand Strategy leads the development of strategy for assigned clients and across new business opportunities. Represents voice of customer within the brand team. Shows mastery of various primary and secondary research methodologies to identify actionable insights. Leads development of key strategic deliverables (e.g. brand vision, positioning & value prop, personality, brand narrative etc.), enlisting other disciplines as necessary. Develops actionable segmentation and/or buyer personas and leads behaviour mapping to drive content and omnichannel touchpoint recommendations. Presents to and develops consultative relationships with core and executive level client contacts. Leads workshops and helps align internal and external audiences on a singular vision. Partners with account, creative, medical and engagement teammates to ensure strategic consistency of a campaign from start to finish, including planning tactics (and ongoing optimisation). Responsible for management and development of strategists on team. 

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the nuances of each client’s market and business
  • Design, conduct and analyse market research (in collaboration with clients and/or third party vendors)
  • Develop and lead workshops that facilitate problem-solving and development of actionable initiatives and content
  • Lead development of all foundational brand strategy elements
  • Provide strategic guidance to internal teams and to clients on major accounts, and ensure work is grounded in market understanding and voice of customer
  • Craft and present stimulating creative briefs rooted in deep insight
  • Participate in the development of client brand planning and the evaluation and optimisation of campaigns
  • Support convergence across Precision AQ by identifying opportunities for other teams on in-line work and participating in cross-agency opportunities
  • Opportunistically identify and pursue new business and inline growth opportunities by presenting new ideas to clients
  • Participate actively on business development initiatives and bring unique and daring insights to help secure business
  • Mentor, provide regular feedback, and review annually strategists on team to encourage growth and development
  • Support standardisation in how strategy operates within the agency and across brand teams
  • Participate in assessing and optimising existing strategic processes and help to drive consistent use

Qualifications:

Minimum required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ years of agency and strategy experience or equivalent with significant experience managing strategy in a client-facing role on large scale projects
  • Extensive experience positioning brands to succeed in their respective markets
  • Experience leading new business activity and proposal generation
  • Experience in the human healthcare sector (e.g. with prescription only medicines (POM) within Europe and an understanding of European codes of practice)

Competencies:

Minimum required:

  • Ability to synthesize and simplify complex information and communicate it to a variety of internal and external audiences
  • Flexible and collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Versed in the fundamentals of brand building and brand planning
  • Demonstrated ability to help clients evolve their thinking based on the agency’s POV backed by evidence and insights
  • A track record of winning new business

Other Required:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and management skills are required
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Interest in innovation and technology
  • May require travel domestically and/or internationally including overnight stays
  • Experience/interest managing or mentoring direct reports or junior colleagues
