Job Description

This role will be based in our 240 London Blackfriars office

Working in a dynamic, creative and highly collaborative central digital marketing team, the Digital Marketing Specialist – SEO will conduct comprehensive SEO audits and create in-depth SEO strategies for implementation and continuous optimisation across Informa Connect Tech Events' most exciting brands. Operating as an internal agency, this individual will work within a central team whilst collaborating with marketing teams working within industry portfolios, consisting of expos, conferences and training courses.

They will lead on SEO initiatives which significantly accelerates organic discoverability, brand reach and perception amongst a variety of tech and telecoms communities, ultimately driving a strong uplift in Organic conversions and revenue. The successful candidate will balance creativity with a sharp data-driven mindset, to bring a holistic approach to SEO - working across On-Page, Off-Page and Tech SEO, whilst capitalising on all the new opportunities GEO/AI Search provides.

This individual will also lead on the tracking and reporting of all organic initiatives, providing key insights to maximise effectiveness against overall marketing objectives. This strong communicator will be an highly knowledgeable partner to our brands and central teams, steering future strategy and embedding SEO best practice through our SEO Centre of Excellence.

Key responsibilities:

  • Increase organic search/AI search traffic, referrals and crawlability by defining and implementing an effective SEO strategy, aligned to overall marketing objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth, technical SEO audits and partnering with central tech teams to enhance site performance.
  • Conduct relevant audience and industry research to maximise effectiveness of SEO tactics.
  • Align audience knowledge with in-depth keyword/query research, prioritised by search volumes and competitiveness.
  • Create comprehensive content calendars closely aligned to our target audiences and assist in the creation of long form content leveraging relevant topics and queries.
  • Partner with marketing teams to create compelling content such as: videos, podcasts, reports etc.
  • Create a comprehensive organic amplification strategy for created content and assets across social media, forums and media sites.
  • Consistently optimise SEO initiatives at key junctures, ensuring content and keywords remain highly relevant and effective.
  • Advise on landing page optimisation to maximise discoverability and conversion.
  • Uncover offsite SEO opportunities through backlink partnerships, PR and social media activity.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to uncover strategic keyword opportunities and optimisations
  • Work with relevant SEM Specialists to align on a truly omnichannel digital marketing approach to campaign delivery.
  • Track organic search and referral traffic performance and its impact on audience growth and conversion through Google Analytics and Search Console.
  • Create a bi-weekly SEO tracker for circulation to key stakeholders and teams, with commentary, analysis and suggested optimisations.
  • Produce wash-up reports summarising organic traffic performance, domain authority and keyword ranking improvement, as well as audience growth and conversion.
  • Facilitate digital marketing upskilling sessions and best practice implementation through the SEO Centre of Excellence.
  • Stay up to date with the latest algorithm changes, SEO trends and tools for optimisation of current and future initiatives.

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years experience working in SEO
  • A strong interest and keen understanding of GEO/AI search and how to implement a multi-channel approach to triggering visibility within AI Overviews and chatbots.
  • Highly strategic - SEO strategy creation
  • Extensive knowledge of Google Analytics and Search Console with and in-depth experience in segment building and goal set-up.
  • Extensive knowledge of Ahrefs, SEMRush and related tools
  • Creating comprehensive and effective SEO strategies, closely aligned to overarching marketing objectives.
  • Highly creative with the ability to build comprehensive content and amplification schedules and project manage the production of long form and multimedia content aligned to key topics and audiences.
  • Hands-on experience conducting comprehensive technical SEO audits.
  • Highly analytical, ability to recreate successful initiatives and optimise sub-optimal SEO strategies
  • Proven experience in analysing audience data, traffic analytics and channel performance, and recommending improvements
  • Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally, with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work across multiple product and audience types
  • Highly innovative – staying up to date with latest SEO tools, platforms and important algorithm changes
