What you'll do

As a DevOps Platform Engineer, you’ll be working with feature and platform teams to design, develop and deploy AWS based platforms for running customer facing workloads at scale. Along the way you’ll also be using your experience to help coach those feature teams to higher levels of DevOps capability to drive continuous improvements and enhance the end customer experience.

You’ll also be:

  • Demonstrating how to measure, understand and visualise the flow and delivery of value through adopting DevOps tools, techniques and processes
  • Providing feedback that builds on policies, standards, practices and associated DevOps tooling
  • Making sure decisions made are based on robust data, return on investment and value measures that demonstrate thoughtful and intelligent cost management

 

 The skills you’ll need

Approaching infrastructure engineering with a development and engineering mindset, you'll have a strong focus on automation and testing to deliver the levels of resilience and performance required to support bank-critical systems, while also  optimising cost and carbon efficiency throughout. 

Skills in Backstage, Java development and Prompt engineering, and AI automation would be hugely beneficial.

You’ll also demonstrate:

  • Expert knowledge and proficiency of AWS and Kubernetes
  • Experience  of ArgoCD, GitOps, Terraform and Python development
  • Experience of building and engineering comprehensive GitLab or similar CI/CD pipelines covering the full SDLC
