The Team: 

Our Front Office Platforms team help deliver top class technology solutions for our Front Office, working closely with out Quantitative Development teams who partner with portfolio managers and trading teams to provide technology and data-analysis consultancy and development, and is continuing to grow to better support further business expansion. We are looking for a new DevOps Engineer to join the team

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:   

  • Build out of key platform features for Front Office to be used by many teams. 

  • Contribute to a modern, automated, cloud native continuous delivered stack. 

  • Collaborate closely with quant development teams on the requirements for strategic internal products. 

  • Incrementally improve the security, reliability and cost efficiency of the Front Office platform and infrastructure. 

  • Automate as much as possible when appropriate. 

  • Promote best practices across Cloud and DevOps toolchains. 

  • Dive into a new stack, understand the main concepts and problem solve. 

  • Understand the nuances and challenges of developer experience for internal developer platforms. 

  • Understand specific trading team needs, implementing some as reusable patterns. 

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND: 

Essential 

  • 4+ years as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer or SRE 

Desirable 

  • Software engineering background 

TECHNICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: 

Essential 

  • 4+ years working with any standard CICD technology 
  • Understanding of different deployment units – servers, containers, serverless 
  • 4+ years cloud – one of AWS, GCP, Azure 
  • Automation scripting 
  • Linux proficient 
  • Basic database knowledge 
  • Kubernetes, Docker, Serverless Framework or AWS SAM 

 

Desirable 

  • AWS 
  • GitHub Actions, Argo CD 
  • Python 
  • Packer 
  • PostgreSQL 
  • Basic knowledge of Distributed computing and accelerator (ray/dask/jax...)
