Build production-ready AI software using frontier coding tools, create educational content (videos, posts, playbooks), and lead customer workshops and hackathons. Test new models and tools, translate capabilities for operators and leaders, and run a repeatable build→content→workshop cadence to drive customer adoption and market presence.

Who We Are:

Tenex is where builders, operators, and problem-solvers come together to help the world’s most ambitious companies go from AI-absent to AI-native. We work at the intersection of strategy and engineering, embedding elite AI SWAT teams directly into organizations to turn complex, high-stakes problems into real, measurable outcomes. We don’t do slide decks and hand-offs; we sit in the trenches alongside our clients to build & drive real transformation.

We operate with the speed of a startup and the rigor of a storied institution. Our culture is built on intellectual curiosity, radical ownership, and a belief that exceptional work comes from diverse teams who are empowered to challenge assumptions, move fast, and hold each other to a higher standard. If you want to work on projects that actually matter, alongside people who push you to be your best, Tenex is the place to do it.

The Role:

As a Developer Relations hire at Tenex, you’ll sit at the rarest intersection in tech today: someone who builds with AI and someone who tells the story of what they’ve built. You’ll ship real software with the frontier coding tools — Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, and whatever lands next — and turn each build into content that educates Tenex’s audience of AI-curious operators, founders, and enterprise leaders racing to become AI-native.

You’ll also lead AI workshops with Tenex’s customers, ranging from team hackathons to leadership enablement sessions in Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini, to function-specific workshops (legal, finance, marketing, ops) that take customers from spectator to operator inside their own tools. The work compounds: every build becomes a piece of content, every piece of content sharpens a workshop, and every workshop surfaces the next build worth doing.

You’ll report directly to Alex Lieberman (Cofounder of Tenex & Morning Brew) and partner closely with engineering, GTM, and content. This is a high-ownership seat for a builder-creator who can write code that runs, ship content that pops, and stand in front of a room of customers and leave them more capable than when they walked in.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build with AI in public. Use Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, and whatever ships next to build real software, internal tools, demos, and prototypes — and document the work as you go.

  • Create content about what you’ve built. Produce videos, posts, threads, and playbooks that walk Tenex’s audience through what you built, the tools you used, and the workflows that made it possible.

  • Educate the AI-interested audience that is Tenex’s ICP. Translate frontier capabilities into language that operators, founders, and enterprise leaders can act on; build the body of work that becomes the canonical reference for “how to build with AI today.”

  • Lead AI workshops with Tenex customers. Run hackathons, leadership enablement sessions in Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini, and function-specific workshops (legal, finance, marketing, ops) that move customers from spectator to operator inside their own tools.

  • Stay on the frontier. Be the first to test every model, tool, and workflow as it drops; have a sharp point of view on what changes and what doesn’t, and feed that back into builds, content, and customer engagements.

  • Drive the rhythm of the engine. Establish the cadence of build → content → workshop that compounds Tenex’s voice in the market and turns audience attention into customer conversations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years building software, with real shipping experience using AI coding tools. You’re not just curious — you’ve used Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or equivalents to build work that runs in production or in front of real users.

  • A strong portfolio of teaching content. Videos, posts, playbooks, or threads that explain how something works to a technical or AI-curious audience, where you can articulate both the choices and the audience response.

  • Deeply AI-pilled. You can name what shipped this week and why it matters; you have opinions on which tools to reach for and when; you’ve built workflows that produce real output, not demos.

  • Workshop and teaching chops. You’ve taught technical material to non-technical operators, run a hackathon, or led training that left a room of leaders meaningfully more capable than when they walked in.

  • A creator’s instinct. You know how to find the moment in a build that’s worth a video, the line that’s worth a thread, and the workflow that’s worth a playbook — and you can ship the finished product.

  • Operational discipline. You can run a calendar of builds, shoots, and workshops in parallel without dropping the bar on any of them, and you can produce and edit your own content end-to-end.

  • Bonus: experience straddling engineering and content for a creator, founder, or technical brand whose audience is AI-native operators and enterprises.

  • Exceptional taste and judgment. You know the difference between a build that demos well and one that holds up under scrutiny, and between content that’s polished and content that pops.

  • High ownership and low ego. You’re happy to ship code on Monday, edit a video on Tuesday, and run a workshop in Boston on Wednesday — and to push back when the idea isn’t there yet.

Profiles That Could Be a Fit:

  • Engineer who wants to become a creator

  • Experience in Developer Relations

  • Content creator who wants to go all-in on AI building

  • SME who wants to become known as the AI expert in your industry

We’ve Got You Covered:

  • Comprehensive medical coverage (PPO and HSA options), dental, and vision

  • HSA, Healthcare FSA, and Commuter Benefits

  • 100% employer-paid life insurance + AD&D

  • 100% employer-paid long-term disability insurance

  • Responsible PTO. Take what you need.

What we offer:

The base salary for this role is $100,000 to $150,000 annually, with opportunities for further upside (bonus/equity) tied directly to your output. When determining compensation, we consider job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Our workplace:

We prioritize in-person work and collaborate from our New York City office five days a week. We believe our best ideas come from working closely together. Being in the same space enables faster collaboration, real-time problem solving, and stronger relationships that elevate how we build and execute as a team.
