dunnhumby is the global leader in Customer Data Science, helping retailers and brands grow by understanding their customers better than anyone else. We’re now looking for a Design System Designer to join our growing Design team and help scale our design system across a suite of B2B, data driven products. 

 

This role is ideal for someone who is deeply passionate about Design Systems, and wants to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment where attention to detail, structure, and consistency truly matter. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

You’ll play a key role in contributing to and evolving our established Design System. With foundations, architecture, and token structures already in place, you'll focus on scaling, documenting, and building components that support product teams across dunnhumby. 

 

You will: 

  • Create and evolve high quality UI components 
  • Write clear specifications, guidelines, and documentation 
  • Partner closely with designers and developers to ensure high quality implementation 
  • Support decision making and drive best practices across the Design System 
  • Contribute immediately to active product timelines by delivering robust, scalable components 

 

This is a dedicated Design System position — ideal for someone who thrives in this specialist area. 

 

What we’re looking for 

Experience & Background 

  • Experience in UI/visual design and designing Design Systems 
  • Strong UI foundation with strong attention to detail 
  • Previous hands on experience working specifically on a Design System 
  • Comfortable influencing and collaborating with designers, developers, and product stakeholders in a fast paced setting 
  • Experience in B2B product environments 
  • Strong understanding of web design (our products are not mobile supported) 
  • Exposure to data focused products 

 

Core Skills 

  • Strong experience using Figma 
  • Solid understanding of Design Tokens 
  • Knowledge of HTML & CSS to support technical conversations 
  • Strong ability to produce clear, structured documentation and specifications 
  • Confident in driving Design System decision-making and guiding technical discussions
