Job Description

As a Design Manager, you will oversee all project stages, from feasibility to hotel opening. Your responsibilities include managing new developments, renovations, and conversions, ensuring alignment with brand standard.

The role requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish and to have a work permit for the UK.

The key to success in this role is establishing successful relationships with client’s team and other departments within the Accor. 

Main Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate closely with client teams to provide comprehensive support and guidance.
  • Assist and coordinate the Interior Design consultant selection.
  • Collaborate with architects, interior designers, consultants, and contractors to ensure project alignment with brand standards. Produce comprehensive design brief.
  • Review architectural and interior design plans from schematic to DD package providing feedback and ensuring compliance with brand guidelines, standards and operational needs.
  • Review materials, shop drawings, finish samples, FF&E specifications to ensure they meet Accor Brand Standards and allocated budget.
  • Provide assistance and coordination in Value engineering process on all projects.
  • Conduct site meetings as necessary, including initial workshops and MUR visits to ensure design execution aligns with approved concepts. Produce MUR report.
  • Support final inspections to ensure quality control before project handover.
  • Facilitate effective communication between Accor teams and external partners. Regularly update the team on project status, upcoming goals, and potential issues.

Key Interactions:

  • Internally: Senior Accor Management, developers, marketing, procurement and both corporate and hotel operations.
  • Externally: owners and owner’s team including architects, interior designers, project managers, suppliers and various project consultants.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Spanish, any additional language skills are a plus.
  • Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 8+ years’ of experience in design and project management, preferably in hospitality industry.
  • Experience in managing client relationships.
  • Highly organized, hands-on team player and negotiation skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, InDesign, AutoCAD, Photoshop, or similar design presentation software
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
