Design Engineer

Our customers include civil engineering and construction contractors, asset owners, and consulting engineering firms through to small builders.
Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a design engineer to join our engineering team in Hatfield. Reporting to a Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for producing temporary works designs and checks for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework.
The role would suit an engineer with a few years post graduate experience with demonstratable technical experience in structures or geotechnical design and a sound understanding of temporary works. At Mabey Hire, the floor is yours to fulfil your potential and take us forward.

You will:
- Prepare temporary works designs for our products.
- Check designs and drawings in accordance with the appropriate standards.
- Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
- Review design briefs provided by the sales team and provide feedback if more information is required.
- Manage your own workload.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.
You will have:
- At least 3 years of experience designing temporary works, specifically either Cofferdams or Building Refurbishment.
- A HND or degree in civil/structural engineering.
- The ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Good understanding of CDM 2019.
- Experience utilising AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
We would also love it if you have:
- General temporary works design experience - in particular Cofferdams, Building Refurbishment, and/or Formwork / Falsework.
- Experience working for a temporary works supplier.
- Some experience working on site or for a contractor.
