We are looking for a Design Admin Assistant to support our Design team with all aspects of administration and organisation through the Buying cycle. Together with the Design team, you will contribute to the creation of mood boards, concepts, key shapes and colour palettes that deliver innovation, best in class ranges and continually build brand equity.

The Design Admin Assistant will work collaboratively with the Harrods Own Label team and wider contributors; you will foster and encourage a can-do and positive attitude.

About the Role

The overall responsibility of this role is to support the Assistant Designer and wider Design team in administrative tasks: meeting preparation, printing, preparing documents for meetings or for suppliers, taking notes, preparing boards and samples.

You will role model Harrods Values at all times while nurturing an inclusive culture, inspiring collaboration and creativity. Within the role, you will contribute to others development; help with onboarding new team members, approach deadlines and workload as a joint and collaborative deliverable, and demonstrate a solution-oriented approach.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the organisation of inspirational trips for the Design team ensuring them to be in line with the Key Dates, completing Travel Authorisation Forms and feeding back to the Design Manager.

  • Understand best and worst and current trade to assist in subsequent design work.

  • Have an awareness of, contribute to, and reference the commercial documents in place (Shopping List, Range Plan, trade reports, Strategy, Stage and Gate).

  • Communicate with suppliers – requesting materials, trims, print techniques, design inspiration pre-season.

  • Organise reference samples, responsible for the recording of all bought samples to ensure that they are regularly reviewed until a development has been actioned.

  • Understand relevant categories supply base; to be in regular contact and demonstrate efficient responses to suppliers and stakeholders at all times.

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

Please see our Hybrid@Harrods policy on our Career Site for more information or speak to a member of our Talent Acquisition team if you have any questions regarding the requirements for this role.

About You

To be successful within this role, you will have previous experience of Own Label Design in a bridge/luxury brand, or a qualification in product design; this prior experience meaning that you are creative with a high taste level.

You will also:

  • Be organised, flexible and resilient.

  • Be confident in working towards KPIs.

  • Have a desire to develop creative acumen, market knowledge and design skills.

  • Be willing and proactive in overarching team deliverables.

  • Have knowledge of different Microsoft programmes.

  • Have strong communication skills; it is important that there is constant and consistent communication within the team, especially to the Assistant Designer and Design Manager.
