Ameresco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced DDC (Direct Digital Controls) Controls Project Manager to oversee and manage our DDC controls projects around Bradenton, FL. As a DDC Controls Project Manager, you will manage assigned projects within budget cost, exceeding customer expectations, meeting all interim and final completion dates, and with no on-site injuries. This job is a field position working with the team to get to know them.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the pre-construction sales phase of jobs assigned. Assist in estimate preparation and review, pre-construction scheduling, and attend meetings with the customer. Attend turnover meeting to obtain all relevant project information from estimating and sales.

  • With input from Operations leadership and other as necessary, establish project team, lead detailed pre-planning session that will prepare for successful completion of the project. Develop budgets, manpower schedules, installed quantity measurement plan, material and subcontractor plan, schedule of values and cash flow plan, and all other documentation necessary to measure and track project progress.

  • Coordinate all equipment, material and subcontractor requirements and requisition from purchasing.

  • Coordinate all programming and coordination requirements. Define scope of work for drafting/detailing, monitor progress for cost control, accuracy and on time completion.

  • With assistance from safety coordinator and site foreman, develop, monitor and implement site specific safety plan to eliminate any injuries.

  • Continually monitor progress of the project. Review weekly labor hours, with foreman, and review productivity measurement. Manage all resources for most efficient utilization and profit growth. Attend site project meetings and represent interests of the company as well as meeting the customer's expectations. Maintain highest level of quality control and compliance with plans and specs. Take corrective actions early to minimize potential over-runs or schedule disruption.

  • Identify price, negotiate and manage all change orders.

  • Prepare monthly cost to complete forecasts for financial statement preparation. Attend monthly financial review meeting as scheduled and update company management on financial status of jobs assigned.

  • Coordinate monthly billing process and maintain over-billing position. Negotiate billing approvals with customer. Collect project accounts receivable.

  • Coordinate with Labor Superintendent the resolution of any and all labor problems or labor productivity issues.

  • Coordinate QC and commissioning requirements in-house assigned commissioning agent and/or outside commissioning rep.

  • Coordinate all project closeout requirements including graphics, start up, punch list, O & M manuals, as-builts, etc. Conduct owner training as required. Coordinate all warranty requirements with the service department.

  • Develop strong relationships with the customer's on-site management team so that we are requested back for additional work. Participate in sales activities with assigned customer in order to procure work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the field of DDC controls systems or building automation.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of DDC controls systems, including programming languages (such as BACnet, LonWorks, or Modbus), protocols, and integration with HVAC, lighting, and other building systems.

  • Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
