What you’ll do

In this important role on AlixPartners’ Corporate Services team, you will support the AlixPartners Server environment as a key member of the Datacentre Infrastructure Operations team. The Infrastructure Team is responsible for the maintenance, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting of the AlixPartners data centre solutions. You will take part in assisting with the build of new and existing technologies to support the increasing demands from the greater AlixPartners community. Long term responsibilities will include supporting, managing and implementing the overall data centre infrastructure equipment in a multi-site environment. The environment is primarily Windows Active Directory, clustered servers, virtual servers, and policy support.

The IT Infrastructure Operations Senior Engineer is a full-time role located in London, U.K. and reports to the IT Infrastructure Operations Manager. Paid relocation is not available for this position.

  • Assist with daily systems management and tuning, including maintenance and trend analysis of the data centre infrastructure.
  • Provide day-to-day technical, administrative, and functional support for AlixPartners infrastructure systems. 
  • Assist with the maintenance and support performance monitoring platforms and tools.
  • Support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Assist with Proofpoint daily task and administration
  • Assist with compliance maintenance patching for Windows Operating Systems and 3rd party applications.
  • Support a multi-site Windows Active Directory Environment.
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of all supported systems to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and requirements
  • Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting and manage calls/tickets from the End User Productivity Support team
  • Assist with automation tasks and scripting modifications
  • Acquire knowledge, via both formal and on-the-job training, of the various 3rd party packaged software applications and custom solutions used to provide system monitoring, management, and reporting within the AlixPartners environment.
  • Assist with ensuring a stable implementation and support of enterprise servers, as well as VMware ESXi environments. 
  • Participate in the creation (or modification) of documentation activities related to system configuration, policies, and procedures.

What you’ll need 

  • Significant experience with Microsoft Windows, Windows Server OS.
  • Experience with supporting a multi-site Windows Active Directory Environment.
  • Knowledge of general enterprise IT principles and practices, including experience with both hardware and software architectures.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft System Center Suite (SCOM, SCORCH, SCEM)
  • Experience with Monitoring and alerting systems
  • Knowledge of Cisco UCS servers and Fabric Interconnect environments.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell Scripting and application packaging.
  • Familiarity with M365 platform.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly research new platforms and issues.
  • Collaborative style and customer-service mindset with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people at all levels.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Independent worker with a sense of urgency in a complex and changing working environment. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented, critical thinker who possesses a real passion for helping others and can be adaptive in dynamic and changing situations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience in a 24x7x365 service delivery model supporting mission-critical business operations.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • On-Call Responsibilities outside of regular working hours and participate in monthly maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment
