Your future role within QRT
- Placing you as a key member of the global DB team to help support, administrate, and secure our key databases for QRT.
- A role with the potential to expose to many aspects of DB projects including Administration, replication, Always-on/High Availability, Capacity-Planning, Data Warehouse, DB design.
- Work closely with users from all parts of business to define and resolve information flow, and content issues, helping to enable and support the transformation of business requirements into database solutions, in order to design and develop robust cutting edge systems to keep QRT business at the forefront of its field.
- Opportunity to move into a highly visible role to deliver value added high quality work and expand on your experience in working with the Microsoft DB/ BI full stack too.
Your present skillset
- 2 years + experience in production database administration for PostgreSQL is essential with exposure for SQL-Server administration.
- Understanding of DB monitoring, analysis, disaster recovery, and performance tuning
- Experience in one or more database programming languages (PSQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL etc.) for design, install, maintain, administrate, security, backup and recovery across production, back test, UAT and development environments
- Experience of managing security and permissions
- Knowledge of industry best practices
- Good attention to detail, testing and documentation
- Organized with a proactive approach to work. Team player essential.
- Experience in Powershell/Shell script, python, ansible would be a plus
- Experience in cloud DB admin would be a plus
