Data Risk & Control Monitoring Manager

Location: Sheffield (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Data & Analytics | Type: Permanent

The Role
As a Data Risk & Control Monitoring Manager in our Data & Analytics practice, you’ll help clients in the financial services sector design, implement and embed data risk and control frameworks. Your focus will be on enabling organisations to govern data effectively, ensuring that quality, usage, access and retention are actively managed and aligned with regulatory standards. You’ll work directly with business, risk, compliance and technology teams to drive best practice and measurable improvements.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and implement data risk and control monitoring frameworks and key control indicators (KCIs)

  • Design data control measures to mitigate risks around data quality, access and usage

  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit to ensure regulatory alignment

  • Oversee operationalization of data governance policies, standards and procedures

  • Lead mixed Capco and client teams to deliver data management capabilities across business units

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in data risk, controls and governance within financial services

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to data management

  • Experience in defining and tracking KCIs and data quality metrics across large datasets

  • Familiarity with data management frameworks and tooling (e.g. Collibra, Solidatus)

  • Ability to communicate data risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Bonus Points For

  • Experience working in or alongside second-line Risk or Compliance functions

  • Delivery of data management capabilities as part of regulatory change programmes

  • Knowledge of industry data frameworks such as DAMA DMBOK, DCAM or CDMC

  • Experience in data control automation, dashboarding, or issue management workflows

  • Formal certification in data governance, risk, or audit disciplines
