The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Data Migration Specialist to support data migration, integration, validation, and database-related activities across business-critical systems

The role is well suited for a strong database professional with hands-on experience in SQL, data modelling, data quality, and migration of data between legacy and target systems

What You’ll Do

  • Analyse source and target data structures and identify migration requirements

  • Perform data profiling and assess source data quality

  • Define and maintain source-to-target data mappings and transformation rules

  • Develop and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading processes

  • Develop SQL queries and migration scripts required for data conversion and reconciliation

  • Execute data cleansing, normalization, transformation, and enrichment activities where required

  • Perform migration validation and reconciliation, including record counts, control totals, referential-integrity checks, and business-rule validation

  • Identify data-quality issues and migration exceptions and coordinate their resolution with relevant teams

  • Support multiple migration cycles, including development migrations, mock migrations, dress rehearsals, production cutover, and post-migration validation

  • Troubleshoot migration failures and perform root-cause analysis

  • Support migration performance analysis and optimization

  • Prepare and maintain migration documentation, technical procedures, execution runbooks, reconciliation reports, and issue logs

  • Work closely with business analysts, solution architects, developers, database administrators, QA teams, project managers, and customer stakeholders

  • Support production cutover activities and provide post-migration support when required

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and automation of migration processes

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional experience in data migration, ETL/ELT, data integration, database development, or a similar technical role

  • Strong SQL knowledge and practical experience working with relational databases

  • Experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or equivalent

  • Hands-on experience with data extraction, transformation, loading, and reconciliation

  • Experience performing source-to-target data mapping and implementing data-transformation rules

  • Good understanding of relational database concepts, data models, primary and foreign keys, constraints, referential integrity, and transactions

  • Experience with data-quality assessment, cleansing, validation, and exception handling

  • Ability to analyze large datasets and identify inconsistencies or migration-related issues

  • Experience developing or maintaining migration scripts using SQL and/or scripting languages such as Python or shell scripting

  • Experience working with structured software-development, testing, release, and change-management processes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High level of attention to detail and focus on data accuracy and integrity

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ETL/integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Pentaho, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar

  • Experience with high-volume or business-critical data migrations

  • Experience with cloud-based databases or data platforms

  • Experience automating migration execution and validation activities

  • Knowledge of API-based or file-based data integration using formats such as CSV, XML, or JSON

  • Experience with Git, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes

  • Experience working on customer-facing implementation or transformation projects

  • Familiarity with data-security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
