Harbor is looking for a Data Migration and Integration Consultant to join our HR and payroll transformation practice. This is a technical consulting role at the heart of our delivery work, responsible for moving client data safely and accurately into modern HR platforms and for designing and building the integrations that keep those platforms connected to the wider technology landscape.

You will work across engagements involving SAP SuccessFactors, Workday and Oracle HCM, taking clients from messy, fragmented legacy data through to clean, validated go live loads, and from integration requirements through to tested, supportable interfaces. The role suits someone who enjoys the detail of data work but can also explain it clearly to HR and business stakeholders who do not speak in file formats.

This is a remote position based in the UK, with travel to client sites as needed.

What you will do:

Data migration

  • Lead and deliver data migration workstreams into SAP SuccessFactors, Workday or Oracle HCM, from strategy and planning through to go live and hypercare
  • Define migration approaches, including scoping of data objects, load sequencing, cutover plans and rollback positions
  • Profile and assess legacy data quality, identifying gaps, duplicates and inconsistencies, and agreeing cleansing ownership with the client
  • Design and maintain mapping and transformation rules between legacy sources and target system structures
  • Build, execute and reconcile data loads across multiple test cycles, mock conversions and production cutover
  • Produce validation and reconciliation reporting that gives clients confidence in the accuracy and completeness of migrated data
  • Advise clients on data retention, archiving and the treatment of historical records

Integration design and delivery

  • Gather and document integration requirements across HR, payroll, benefits, finance and third party providers
  • Produce integration designs and specifications covering data flows, transformation logic, error handling, scheduling and security
  • Build, test and deploy integrations using platform native tooling and middleware
  • Support end to end and payroll parallel testing, resolving defects across connected systems
  • Define monitoring, error resolution and support processes so that integrations are sustainable after go live
  • Advise clients on integration architecture, including the trade offs between point to point connections, middleware and file based approaches

ETL and data engineering

  • Use ETL tooling to extract, transform and load data at scale across migration and integration workstreams
  • Develop repeatable, auditable transformation routines rather than one off manual manipulation
  • Automate validation and reconciliation checks where practical to reduce cycle times and manual effort
  • Contribute to the development of practice accelerators, templates and reusable migration assets

Client and practice contribution

  • Act as the trusted technical voice on engagements, translating data and integration matters into plain language for HR and programme stakeholders
  • Support proposals, scoping and estimating for migration and integration workstreams
  • Coach junior consultants and share technical knowledge across the team
What we are looking for:

Essential

  • Proven data migration experience into at least one of SAP SuccessFactors, Workday or Oracle HCM, across multiple full lifecycle projects
  • Integration design and technical delivery experience, including producing specifications and building and testing interfaces
  • Hands on experience with ETL tooling and confidence manipulating large, imperfect datasets
  • Strong understanding of HR and payroll data structures, including the sensitivities around personal data and the importance of accuracy at cutover
  • Experience running reconciliation and validation across test cycles and production loads
  • Clear communicator, able to work with both technical teams and HR stakeholders
  • Right to work in the UK and willingness to travel to client sites when needed

Desirable

  • Experience across more than one of the three target platforms
  • Knowledge of platform specific tooling such as Workday EIB, Core Connectors and Studio, SAP Integration Suite and Infoporter, or Oracle HDL and OIC
  • Experience with payroll migrations and parallel run reconciliation
  • Familiarity with UK GDPR and the data protection considerations that apply to migration and integration work
  • Exposure to professional services or legal sector clients
  • Consulting experience, or client-side experience with a clear consulting mindset
What you can expect:
  • Varied technical work across three major HR platforms, rather than being tied to a single technology
  • A collaborative practice with direct access to senior leadership and genuine input into how we grow
  • Investment in platform certifications and wider professional development
  • Competitive salary, bonus and benefits, with flexible and remote working supported
