Job Description

The Data & Insights Analyst will play a crucial role in driving the development of reporting capabilities and deep diving data for trends and insights. You'll curate, clean, and model data to generate thought-provoking visualisations that uncover valuable insights to support the development of a more effective strategy around how our business operates.

Positioned within People & Marketing , the successful incumbent will play a pivotal role in delivering insights to key stakeholders across the Bank, including senior leadership, whilst building out our people data capabilities through our wider data platform and community.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Data & Insights Analyst to work with stakeholders across the Bank and directly influence how the business operates. The ideal candidate will be able to commit to 3 days a week in either our London or Essex (Brentwood) office. 

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Ability to curate, clean and model data
  • Generate thought-provoking visualisations in a layout suitable for pro-active analysis
  • Tell a compelling story with your data that engages, inspires and convinces stakeholders
  • Understand how your insights turn into actions
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues both technical and business
  • Staying up to date on both technical capability, business objectives & external insights
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and compliance of people data across all platforms
  • Deliver monthly BAU reporting in relation to key people metrics across the banks balance score card including people costs, turnover, absence, overtime, risk and employee engagement.
  • Evolve the existing reporting suite of people MI dashboards, reports and presentations.
  •  Explain complex data to non-technical audiences & provide insights to management regarding key trends in order to support decision making & to inform policy enhancements and to support change programmes across the Group
  • Draw upon external insights and trends to enhance overall quality of information & insights provided to management.

Qualifications

  • Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of tools and capabilities at the forefront of modern reporting and analytics.
  • Circa 2+ years experience using Power BI and SQL
  • Digitally literate across Sharepoint and expert at working with Excel & Power BI
  • Able to demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop relationships across the Bank
  • Experience of working with large datasets to gain insights for an organisation, which requires strong numeracy and statistical skills to effectively understand and interpret data
  • Ability to tailor the analytical approaches required to solve specific problems for the organisation using a combination of technical skills and problem solving abilities when inspecting data. Using this data creatively is vital to understanding our People and proposing enhancements to our EVP.
