Job Description:

The Data I/O Specialist reports to the Manager, Data I/O. In this role, you will play a key part in the accurate transfer, management, and validation of both digital and physical assets.

As a member of the global Data I/O team, you will master all Level I workflows and endpoints, ensuring seamless operations and coordination across all locations.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication, and a commitment to completing tasks with precision. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resilient, and able to collaborate effectively across global teams to meet performance goals and deliver exceptional service. The Data I/O Specialist will embody Pixelogic’s core values and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Working shift: Wednesday to Sunday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Consistently complete Data I/O tasks with accuracy and efficiency to support global objectives. Exemplify the Global Team goals: One Queue. One Team. Any Task. Any Location. Any Time.
  • Security & Compliance: Adhere to departmental policies, ensuring compliance with security protocols and company policies.
  • Global Collaboration & Communication: Proactively communicate with internal teams and departments to resolve issues, ensure smooth workflows, and escalate critical issues when deadlines or asset integrity are at risk.
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency: Suggest improvements to workflows, processes, and documentation to enhance team productivity and efficiency.
  • File Transfers & Asset Management: Facilitate the secure transfer of digital assets using industry-standard protocols (e.g., Aspera, Signiant, FTP, client-specific tools), and download, ingest, and stage files to storage servers.
  • File Verification & Processing: Perform verification checks (e.g., Verifier++, MD5 checksums), renaming files and folder, creating proxies, using hot folders etc.
  • Physical Assets: Track, barcode, log and store physical assets as they are received, transferred and shipped, ensuring secure tracking and timely notifications.
  • Disk Space Management: Collaborate with production teams to monitor and manage disk space on servers, preventing delays in file processing.
  • Backup & Archiving: Restore and archive digital files to LTO for backup and ensure they are posted to production servers when required.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay adaptable by learning new tools, procedures, and techniques to improve performance.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform additional tasks as assigned to fulfill team objectives and ensure smooth operations
Requirements
  • Skills & Expertise:
    • Advanced knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. Commandline a plus.
    • Experience with Aspera P2P, Aspera Faspex, Aspera Dropbox, Signiant, FTP, and other file transfer protocols.
    • Familiarity with physical media formats (e.g., drives, tapes, LTO, LTFS) and digital asset management.
    • Experience working with network storage and remoting into computers.
    • Understanding of computer networks, including DMZ, VPNs, and firewalls.
    • Basic knowledge of media formats, metadata, XML, audio/video codecs, and their role in data management.
  • Experience:
    • 1+ years in a data operations, IT, or media environment (preferred).
    • Experience with digital asset management and file transfer protocols is a plus.
    • Experience in live or quick turnaround production environments
  • Education:
    • Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
    • Preferred: Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

    • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, ensuring high accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

    • Process Improvement: Open to suggesting and implementing process improvements for increased team efficiency and throughput.
