About the Role:

Data Science Evangelist to play a critical role in our company's growth strategy. You will straddle the line between marketing, teaching, and thought leadership. You will be responsible for initiatives that range from thought leadership webinars to technical code-alongs or SEO-driven blog posts.

You will collaborate closely with a team of marketers, data evangelists, SEO experts, and the broader DataCampteam to craft compelling content experiences for our audiences. Through these efforts, you will help amplify and share free and valuable educational content for DataCamp’s audience of learners, data practitioners, and data leaders.

This is an individual contributor role. While we aim to tailor the responsibilities of this role based on your specific strengths and weaknesses (we all have them!), here are the responsibilities typically held by data science evangelists at DataCamp:

Responsibilities:

  • Work with external stakeholders (data influencers, leaders, authors) on webinars, code-alongs, and/or podcasts 
  • Build and maintain a cadence of weekly webinars that drive value for DataCamp’s community of data & learning leaders
  • Build and maintain a cadence of weekly code-alongs that drive value for DataCamp’s community of data & learning leaders
  • Create & deliver detailed & thought-provoking thought leadership reports & white papers 
  • Manage the speakers, editorial direction, and distribution for DataCamp Radar, our quarterly conference series 
  • Create blog posts, tutorials & cheat sheets on data & AI related topics 
  • Co-host the DataFramed podcast—Our flagship podcast with more than 1M+ yearly listens 
  • Representing DataCamp at industry conferences either as an attendee or a speaker

Qualifications:

  • Advanced programming skills in either Python or R
  • Deep knowledge in data science, analytics, business intelligence, and/or AI—you are able to show demonstrable knowledge and experience in one of these spaces
  • An extraverted personality with a passion for public speaking, podcasting, and writing with a proven track record in these activities 
  • High degrees of urgency & organizational skills, you care about delivering the best possible experience for our audience 
  • High degrees of relationship management skills, you are able to foster deep & thoughtful relationships within the data community and are not afraid to hustle for external speakers to join you at one of your events.

We’re even more excited about you if you have the following:

  • A brand in the data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or business Intelligence communities preferred
  • Experience as an evangelist, developer advocate, or community lead at a similar organization/industry 
  • Experience delivering thought leadership content programs (webinars, white papers, podcasts, conferences) at other ed-tech organizations
