Overview:
The Data Engineer will support Mastercard Data & Services products through client data ingestion, processing, and coordination. They will join the DEXTR team, which specialiss in bulding ETL pipelines between MS teams.
A Senior Data Engineer will:
• Coordinate with internal consultants and external clients on data ingestion needs for Mastercard D&S products such as Test & Learn and Mastercard Intelligence Center (MIC)
• Lead relationships with Mastercard Operations and Technology teams to facilitate the transfer of client data
• Process sensitive client data in a PCI-compliant manner using tools such as Oracle Exadata, UNIX shell script, Syncsort, SQL*Loader, Toad, WinSCP, and Putty
• Act as an expert resource within the team across subjects, including Mastercard’s Data Warehouse, PCI compliance, source control, data validation, and testing
• Develop repeatable and scalable code that processes client data in an automated and efficient manner to ensure data availability in the platform is as real-time as possible.
• Lead the automation capabilities of the team. Implement techniques to optimize and routinize repeatable tasks for Test & Learn data setup
• Apply outstanding communication skills, project management skills, and reliability in promptly reacting to incoming requests with an estimated timeline and any needed clarifications, and meeting expressed timelines.
• Mentor junior team members in terms of career, skillset, and team contributions
• Set an example for and foster a high-performance collaborative workplace
• Comply with and uphold all Mastercard internal policies and external regulations
All About You:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or other quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research). Master's degree preferred
- Excellent English communication (oral/written) skills
- Expertise and hands-on experience with RDBMS technologies, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server, the SSIS Stack and .Net
- Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g. Powershell, Python, Bash, Korn Shell, AWK scripting, C Programing, Oracle SQL, PL/SQL)
- Proven self-motivated leader with experience working in teams spread across several geographies
- Demonstrated excellent skills in the ability to innovate, think critically and disaggregate problems. Able to provide oversight, validation and quality control to own and team work product
- Skilled at balancing multiple projects and differing project priorities
- Flexible to work with global offices across several time zones
