Your future role within QRT:

The successful candidate will join the global infrastructure team at QRT. You will be responsible for leading a team of Datacentre Engineers delivering all aspects of design and operation related to the QRT datacentre and co-location estate. This datacentre estate supports the firm's research and is a core part of delivering our infrastructure services, which deliver the highest performance computing and data platforms for the firm. Our co-location estate is global in nature and supports our trading infrastructure which is in every major financial market across the world.

Scope of the team is to deliver datacentre solutions which enable full lifecycle management (architect, design, build, operate, retire) for our datacentre and co-location estate. You will be accountable for all aspects of design working closely with a number of global third-party providers and will ensure that implementations meet the highest operational and security standards. Working closely with your Infrastructure partner teams across networks, compute, and storage, you will ensure capacity across the QRT estate is actively managed including ensuring we have the appropriate level of telemetry, monitoring, CMDB and automations in place.

Your present skillset:

  • You will be able to demonstrate expert knowledge of delivering complex datacentre architectures at scale including operational telemetry, capacity management, executing maintenance and upgrades and monitoring operational performance.
  • You will have experience overseeing the design and implementation of complex datacentre architectures, ensuring high availability, security, and operational performance across the QRT estate.
  • You will have deep knowledge of delivering complex high-performance datacentres and associated infrastructures supporting Compute, Network and Storage architectures at hyper scale levels.
  • You will have deep knowledge of the datacentre and financial markets exchange co-location vendor ecosystem and be able to demonstrate building engineering relationships at senior layers with vendor product and engineering teams.
  • You will stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the datacentre infrastructure remains cutting-edge.
  • As a senior engineering lead, you will partner closely with our research and infrastructure engineering teams and work in a highly collaborative manner.
