Job Description:

Data Business Partner

Location: Remote with travel to Bupa office when required

Contract: Permanent – Full Time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Salary: £56,300 to £65,000 (doe) + 10% management bonus + fantastic Bupa Benefits

As a Data Business Partner, you will act as the strategic interface between the business and the data function, ensuring that data initiatives are aligned with clinical, operational, and commercial priorities.
You will translate business goals into data opportunities, shaping the direction of data products and advocating for their adoption across the organisation. By partnering with stakeholders and guiding Data Product Owners, you will help deliver data solutions that are valuable, actionable, and aligned with Bupa’s enterprise data strategy.
Success in this role means enabling data-driven decision-making and ensuring measurable impact from data investments.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with business leaders across our Clinics and Cromwell Hospital to understand strategic priorities, challenges, and opportunities
  • Act as the primary liaison between the business and the data function, ensuring alignment of data initiatives with clinical, operational, and commercial goals
  • Translate business needs into data opportunities and work with Data Product Owners (DPOs) to shape and prioritise product roadmaps
  • Define and maintain a portfolio view of data initiatives, prioritising based on business value, feasibility, and strategic alignment
  • Advocate for data-driven decision-making and champion the adoption and effective use of data products across the organisation
  • Collaborate with DPOs and analysts to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of dashboards, reports, and data models that meet business needs
  • Define and track success metrics for data product adoption, performance, and impact
  • Represent the domain in cross-functional data governance, architecture, and strategy forums to ensure alignment with enterprise data standards and policies
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data quality, privacy, and compliance within the domain
  • Support the Head of Data in aligning domain-level data initiatives with the broader enterprise data strategy and transformation agenda

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Proven experience in data strategy, product ownership, or business partnering roles within a data or analytics function
  • Strong understanding of data concepts including governance, lifecycle management, and data product development
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into data opportunities and prioritise initiatives based on impact and feasibility
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with experience influencing senior leaders
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including analysts, engineers, and product owners
  • Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
  • Ability to define and track success metrics for data product adoption and performance
  • Understanding of data quality, privacy, and compliance considerations
  • Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake
