Who are we?

Billigence is a boutique data consultancy with global reach, transforming the way organisations work with data. We design, tailor, and deliver cutting-edge data solutions across AI, data science, cloud platforms, and governance. Our mission is to help clients unlock the full value of their data and embed a scalable, data-driven culture.

About the role

We are seeking a highly capable Data Architect to define and deliver the baselined Metamodel and Detailed Data Model underpinning our D&T tooling strategy. Working closely with the Solution Architect, this role ensures clear ownership, definition, and alignment of all key data entities across the enterprise.

You’ll play a central role in designing how data supports business capabilities — ensuring every entity and attribute is accurately defined, integrated, and fit for purpose. This is a strategic and hands-on position, ideal for a data professional with strong modelling and metadata management experience.

What you’ll do

  • Design and document the Metamodel and Detailed Data Model based on insights gathered during Discovery.
  • Define and align data entities, attributes, and relationships across multiple perspectives (Architecture, ITSM, Delivery, Finance).
  • Partner with the Solution Architect to map data models onto integrated tooling design, identifying master data ownership.
  • Ensure the data model is scalable and aligned with long-term architecture roadmap.
  • Support data cleansing, validation, and migration activities during implementation.
  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and traceability across all data model components.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of metadata and data governance practices.

What you’ll need

  • Proven experience in data architecture, data modelling, or metadata management.
  • Deep understanding of entity-relationship modelling, data lineage, and data standards.
  • Strong experience defining and implementing enterprise data models and metamodels.
  • Familiarity with governance tooling (e.g. Collibra, Alation, Ataccama, Informatica).
  • Experience collaborating with architects and engineers to embed models in tooling ecosystems.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to translate business needs into technical models.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
