Our Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) combines cutting-edge robotics, AI, and IoT within our advanced CFCs (Customer Fulfilment Centres). We've mastered the single pick, transforming online delivery for our global partners. Join us and be part of a team pushing the boundaries of retail technology.

About the Role As an Ecommerce Data Analyst (A2) within the Partner Success Analytics team, you will generate critical insights across the full customer journey, from how shoppers discover and browse to how they purchase, retain, and engage with the platform. Operating at the intersection of ecommerce, commercial strategy, and product analytics, your work will help a diverse set of global retail partners understand platform performance, identify growth opportunities, and deliver stronger business results.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with product, commercial, and data engineering teams to solve complex problems spanning digital storefronts, fulfilment, and last-mile delivery. You will take ownership of translating deep analytical findings into clear, actionable narratives for diverse stakeholders. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage data, statistics, and modern tooling to directly influence the digital customer experience and shape commercial decision-making on an international scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build cohort analysis, customer segmentation, and lifetime value modelling to deepen the understanding of shopper behaviour.
  • Analyse customer journeys and funnel drop-offs to surface actionable improvement opportunities across the platform.
  • Track and interpret core ecommerce metrics, including Conversion Rate, Average Order Value, Frequency, and Churn, translating trends into clear narratives for stakeholders.
  • Evaluate feature performance, feature uptake, pricing structures, and promotional mechanics to inform commercial strategies.
  • Analyse product range and availability data to support data-driven commercial decision-making.
  • Design and run A/B tests and other statistical experiments in collaboration with product and commercial teams.
  • Apply appropriate statistical methods to evaluate experimental results, communicating findings clearly alongside uncertainty and practical significance.
  • Build and maintain user-friendly dashboards and reporting in Looker to empower stakeholders to self-serve.
  • Work closely with data engineers to understand available data assets and proactively surface gaps or quality issues.

What We’re Looking For Essential

  • 2+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar data-focused role.
  • Strong SQL proficiency with comfort writing complex queries across large datasets.
  • Python proficiency for data analysis, transformation, and automation.
  • Solid understanding of statistics, with the ability to design, run, and interpret A/B tests and hypothesis tests.
  • Experience building user-friendly dashboards in a BI tool such as Looker, Tableau, or Data Studio.
  • Familiarity with core ecommerce metrics and a clear understanding of how they connect to broader business outcomes.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with Google BigQuery and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with dbt or structural data modelling concepts.
  • Experience utilizing web analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Exposure to predictive modelling or regression techniques.
  • Prior analytics experience within the online grocery, retail, or logistics sectors.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and GitHub.
  • Curiosity about AI and experience utilizing tools like Claude or ChatGPT.
