Job Details 

  • As a Data Analyst within the Underwriting team at Hastings Direct, you will play a pivotal role in our journey to driving data-driven decision-making. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality insights and data products that support various aspects of our insurance business, specifically focused on operational excellence and our three year plans. 
  • You will get the chance to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including service delivery specialists, data analysts, operations, data engineers, and various stakeholders to define, develop and promote the usage of data solutions to improve workflow management and data-driven decision making. 
  • Your day to day activities can also take the form of the following: 
  • Data Product Design and development: Lead discovery and design workshops in order to design and improve workflow and tracking tools on Power Platform. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance insight development and delivery. 
  • Story Ownership: Effectively communicate insights from data using compelling visualisations and narratives. 

 
Skills we would love you to have 

  • If you have a background in MI analysis, data visualisation or something similar in a data-focused environment, then we'd love to hear from you. 
  • Substantial experience designing solutions on PowerAutomate and PowerBI would also be a big positive. 
  • This team also uses a lot of SQL and Snowflake so an aptitude in writing code would be a distinct advantage.
  • If you enjoy using Agile/Scrum methodologies, then you would fit right into working with this team 
  • You will also be joining a brand new team, so insurance industry experience is a huge advantage. You will however, get the chance to shape the ways of working within this team so be prepared to work collaboratively and effectively.
