One of our key solutions is marine coatings that save fuel for our clients and reduce Co2 emissions. It is a strategic priority for Hempel to get a deeper understanding on the impact that our solutions have for our customers, and to advise them on the best and most sustainable solutions for their particular vessels. This is where you come in as our new Data Analyst.

With your self-motivated, energetic, and proactive attitude, you will have the opportunity to become part of Hempel’s Marine Data and Technology team. Our global clients depend on us for data and insights on diverse subjects like hull coating upgrades, regulatory strategies, and sustainability. We also offer advanced digital solutions to assess the efficiency of Hempel coatings.

Make a significant impact by influencing key business decisions, reporting directly to our Manager of Hull Performance and Analytics.

This role offers flexibility to be based in our offices in Athens, Greece; Polinyà, Spain; or Sharjah, UAE. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive decision-making and engage daily with colleagues from around the globe.

What you can look forward to in this Role:

  • Maintaining and improving BI tools, including dashboards, calculations, and the development of clear visualizations and overviews to support internal data evaluation processes.
  • Developing new Power BI dashboards based on expert input.
  • Analyzing and communicating data to sales colleagues and customers, demonstrating the impact of different coating and hull maintenance strategies on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
  • Conducting statistical or machine learning analyses to identify correlations and trends across various databases.
  • Training sales colleagues in the use of BI tools and dashboards.
  • Extracting knowledge for predictive models from existing data.

What does it take to become our new team member?

  • A technical background in mathematics, engineering, or similar fields.
  • Experience with Power BI or other BI visualization tools.
  • Basic coding/programming skills and understanding (Python or similar).
  • A flair for design and graphical representation.
  • Proficiency in English (corporate language).
