We are now looking for an Analyst to join our Editorial Analytics team! You’ll use data to help understand how our journalism reaches and engages readers, and supports decision making across the newsroom and wider business.


About the role

  • Provide insights on reader engagement and content performance to inform newsroom strategy.
  • Develop an understanding of editorial workflows, audience behaviour and business priorities, and apply this context when interpreting data.
  • Communicate findings clearly, tailoring outputs to different audiences and explaining context and limitations.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and other teams to support feature development, experimentation and performance analysis.
  • Work responsibly and ethically with data, following privacy and governance standards.

About you

  • Experience working with data using SQL (in a professional or academic setting).
  • Understanding of core analytical concepts (e.g. averages, distributions, basic statistical testing).
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker).
  • Ability to think logically about problems and break them down into manageable analyses.
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders and building positive working relationships.

We operate in a hybrid environment working 3 days a week from our offices in Kings Cross and 2 days a week remotely.

You'll have 30 days of annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) with the option to purchase an additional 5 days. Our pension scheme is generous; if you contribute 5% then we will contribute 8-12% (depending on your age).
