Chaucer is undertaking a major data transformation programme to drive business growth, optimise operations, and strengthen business protection.
We are seeking an early career Data Analyst who is eager to develop their SQL and Insurance specific knowledge by joining an agile team focused on addressing underlying data challenges and strengthening data integrity.
You will help enhance the quality, reliability, and trustworthiness of Chaucer’s data by identifying issues, designing fit‑for‑purpose solutions, and collaborating closely with business teams and data stewards. This role suits someone who is curious, and ambitious, able to work both independently and collaboratively to analyse data behavior and translate findings into data quality controls.
Job Description
Write and Run data queries to identify coding issues and data exceptions.
Maintain Data Quality rules configuration in Data Quality tooling
Identify the root cause of data quality issues through targeted data analysis
Conduct data profiling to support data activities across the group.
Support the maintenance and business usage of Data Quality Monitoring and Controls tooling.
Work with stakeholders to define business data quality rules
Work closely with data owners, data users and data custodians to ensure the root cause of reported
data issues are understood and underlying problems as well as associated symptoms are resolved.
Creation and maintenance of documentation relating to designed processes and procedures.
Reporting data analysis findings to management to inform business decisions and prioritize information system needs.
Skills and Competencies
Experience working within the Lloyd’s of London insurance market
SQL (beginner–intermediate) and Excel (intermediate)
Prior experience in a data‑analysis role, including writing SQL queries
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good problem‑solving abilities
