About the role

Billigence is supporting a leading Higher Education institution as it embarks on a strategic transformation to become a data- and AI-driven organisation.

We are seeking an experienced Data & AI Transformation Lead who will work closely with senior leadership to define and execute the institution's transformation strategy. This role will play a central part in shaping how data and AI are used to drive operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and support long-term institutional performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive stakeholders across the university, helping to define the future state of data and AI capabilities while ensuring the transformation programme is aligned with institutional priorities.

What you'll do

  • Define and lead the data and AI transformation strategy across the institution
  • Work with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities where data and AI can drive business improvement
  • Gather and structure business requirements across departments and functions
  • Translate strategic objectives into a clear, executable transformation roadmap
  • Lead alignment on key metrics and performance indicators used across the organisation
  • Define how data and AI capabilities will support core university functions and decision-making
  • Establish and scope a programme of work for delivering the transformation
  • Work closely with enterprise architecture and technology teams to align strategy with platform capabilities
  • Guide the delivery of the transformation programme and ensure alignment with business outcomes
  • Provide leadership across both business and technical stakeholders

What you'll need

  • Proven experience leading enterprise-level data transformation programmes
  • Strong ability to connect business strategy with data and analytics capabilities
  • Experience defining data strategy, KPIs, and performance frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management experience across senior executive leadership
  • Experience translating complex requirements into structured programmes of work
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders
  • Experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
