This role will set the direction for resiliency practices, guiding application and asset owners to ensure that critical systems are backed up, tested, and able to be restored quickly.
The Cyber Resiliency Manager will act as a trusted advisor across Technology and the business, ensuring that our cyber resilience strategy is embedded into day-to-day operations and that Asda’s critical business solutions are protected, recoverable, and resilient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Asda’s cyber resiliency strategy, aligned with business priorities and risk appetite.
  • Provide expert guidance to application and asset owners to ensure that backup, recovery, and continuity capabilities are effective and tested.
  • Oversee the identification of critical business services and assets, ensuring appropriate resiliency measures are in place (e.g., backup frequency, data retention, RTO/RPO alignment).
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to embed resilience requirements into design and delivery.
  • Ensure regular testing and exercising of recovery plans, validating the ability to restore critical services within required timeframes.
  • Work with Business Continuity and Risk teams to align cyber resilience with wider enterprise continuity planning.
  • Produce reporting and metrics for senior stakeholders and governance boards, demonstrating the effectiveness of resilience measures.
  • Stay ahead of evolving threats, industry regulations, and best practices to enhance resilience posture.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members or analysts contributing to resilience initiatives.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in cyber security, technology risk, or IT disaster recovery with a focus on resilience, recovery, and continuity.
  • Strong understanding of backup and restore technologies, cloud and hybrid architectures, and resilience frameworks.
  • Experience working with application and asset owners to assess risks and embed controls.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 22301, FCA Operational Resilience).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical mindset; able to assess resilience gaps and define pragmatic, business-aligned improvements.
  • Project management or programme delivery experience in resilience initiatives.

Desirable:

  • Professional certifications in resilience, risk or security (e.g., CRISC, CBCP).
  • Experience in retail, financial services, or other complex operational environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies and cloud platforms (Azure, M365).
What Success Looks Like
  • Critical business services have tested and validated restore plans aligned with RTO/RPO requirements.
  • Application and asset owners feel supported and guided in implementing effective resilience controls.
  • Cyber resilience posture is measurably stronger, with improved recovery times and reduced impact of incidents.
  • Senior leadership has visibility and confidence in Asda’s ability to withstand and recover from attacks or disruptions.
  • Resilience practices are embedded into design, change, and operations across the business.
What You’ll Gain
  • Opportunity to shape and lead Asda’s cyber resilience capability at enterprise scale.
  • Visibility across the organisation, influencing senior stakeholders and critical decision-making.
  • A collaborative, values-led culture with strong focus on career growth and learning.
  • Hybrid working, competitive benefits, and the chance to protect a brand that matters to millions of customers.
