The Cyber Operations Specialist will be supporting the E-7 Wedgetail AEW&C program and will be responsible for understanding our customer's evolving business needs and support the execution of critical Information security work statements.

The Cyber Operations Specialist will be supporting the E-7 Wedgetail AEW&C program and will be responsible for understanding our customer's evolving business needs and support the execution of critical Information security work statements.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who has demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring technical teams, a creative thinker who looks for innovative solutions, and someone who enjoys collaborating with key stakeholders.
- Creative thinking. This role calls for innovative and creative thinking. You will need to have the ability to manage, liaise, and work effectively with multiple project teams to facilitate development of effective Cyber Security solutions for our customer.
- Leadership and learning. Leadership skills are critical to the success of this role. You must be skilled at managing stakeholders while fostering an open, inclusive, and innovative team culture. You will need to be someone confident in highlighting problems, seeing them as learning opportunities that create the opportunity to generate alternatives for improved future results.
- Technical pre-requisites. As a leader providing the execution priorities for Information and Cyber Security you will need to have well developed experience in some or all these Product Security Specialty areas:
- Architecture Design and Engineering
- Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Test Verification Validation and Technical Assurance
- Digital Forensics and Incident Response
- Cyber Security Operations
Ideally you will have completed training in multiple technical domains and hold industry certifications or tertiary qualifications.
- Collaboration. We need someone who understands that there is greater power and resilience in a collaborative and co-creation environment to build cross-team cooperation
Experience/Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Australian Defence Security Principles Framework and associated policies and procedures including familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual.
- Understanding of developing and implementing information security practices in an engineering environment.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex security concepts to a broad and diverse audience.
- Strong Project Management experience, ability to understand priorities, operate independently and collaboratively demonstrating end to end accountability.
- Proficient with Atlassian tools to develop and maintain KPIs for Cyber Operations metrics.
- Experienced in developing and executing verification and validation for OT and ICT system security.
- Skilled in system hardening and applying security best practices with cost-benefit analysis.
- A desire to work as part of a dynamic team supporting a diverse range of technology, and willingness and ability to contribute to team tasking at both technical and lead level.
- Industry recognised information security qualification is preferable and/or relevant experience.
- Development, implementation and execution of continuous monitoring strategy and other strategic tasking aligned with organizational goals
- Experienced oversight, management and support of incident response and communications to stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstration of a big picture view and ability to look at & for efficiency opportunities, be able to join dots to anticipate future potential issues and work to solve them
- Demonstrated ability developing threat-based focus on monitoring and detection
- Demonstrated ability in assisting to mature vulnerability management practices
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead a small Cyber analyst team
- Strong Knowledge of stakeholders, accreditation requirements and Defence policy requirements pertaining to Cyber security
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance - The preferred applicant will hold a minimum NEGATIVE VETTING 2 level and be required to successfully undergo the security clearance vetting process at the NEGATIVE VETTING 2 The preferred applicant MUST be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and MUST have lived in Australia, or have a checkable background, for at least the preceding Five years.
