Overview of the role:

The CRM Planning Manager is a pivotal role in the Betfair International CRM team. This team has the ambition to be the most progressive and effective CRM team in the group.  We will create innovative solutions across international regions, that drive value both for customers and the organisation through best-in-class automated communications that bring the brand to life in a way that is personalised to customers’ preferences, lifestages and the actions that we want them to take.

Reporting directly to the Senior CRM Planning Manager, the CRM Planning Manager will work to plan & optimise the contact & comms strategy. This will require a strong knowledge of CRM planning principles, an ability to identify and act upon key customer insights & a fluency with understanding data. You will be responsible for maximising our customers’ engagement with the brand in line with predetermined commercial strategies and increasing the size, marketability and engagement of the base through customer led communications. You must therefore be able to proactively identify opportunities for driving commercial value, with the ability to defend and prioritise initiatives based on data and/or insight

What you’ll do:

You’ll play a key role in helping us deliver game-changing CRM communication experiences, continually raising the bar while working at pace.

  • Developing & presenting clear CRM strategy communication plans using PowerPoint that tell compelling stories to inspire marketing and commercial colleagues alike

  • Owning the CRM governance process, triaging incoming briefs and owning the monthly planning cycle and centralisation of contact plans.

  • Managing the process by which strategies are translated into detailed yet clear campaign plans for delivery teams to manage through targeting, data selection and creative.

  • Identifying and communicating key customer and market trends, from our own vertical and beyond, applying these into plans.

  • Collaborating within CRM and across the business to assist The Senior CRM Manager in the development of a new customer contact strategy that is scalable across geographies.

  • Collaborating with analysts to size headroom opportunities across the base

  • Being able to tell compelling stories based on complex and sometimes incomplete data.

  • Overseeing campaign analysis and test and learn plans, that consistently improve programme performance.

  • Ensuring we have a clear and coherent data strategy to support the execution of our communication programmes.

What you’ll bring:

You will have a proven track record & experience driving commercial success whilst putting the customer at the heart of CRM communication strategies and programmes. You will also have experience of managing a range of direct media channels and CRM programmes that provide a best-in-class customer experience and drive improved commercial performance. A background of working in a CRM strategy or CRM planning focused role centred on CRM & digital communications is also important, aligning marketing strategy with a clear data capability plan.

As the ideal candidate you will have:

  • An ability to work with analytics functions to extract the correct data, transform it from information to insight and tell simple compelling stories that inspire creative and commercial colleagues alike

  • A passion for understanding what makes customers tick & CRM engagement techniques

  • Lead kick off meetings with stakeholder teams & keep team members in the loop with regular updates on progress

  • Experience presenting to senior stakeholders, with excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Ability to work with analysts & build reporting capabilities, so that we have a clear understanding of our customers and marketing effectiveness

  • Strong understanding of CRM segmentation, data & direct marketing

  • Ability to identify opportunities for driving commercial value, and to defend and prioritise initiatives based on data and/or insight.

  • A marketing/business degree level qualification or equivalent would be desirable
