Job Details
Under general direction of the Sr. Director of Data Center & Operational Facilities, the Critical Systems Architect will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our critical systems infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that are essential to our operations, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will identify and address potential vulnerabilities, develop contingency plans, and implement best practices to safeguard our critical systems against potential threats. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise and support for system upgrades, troubleshooting, and optimization efforts.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain critical systems infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Provide engineering and design support for new construction, facility expansions, and equipment replacement/repair.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate system vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Provide technical support for system upgrades, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to enhance system security and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures (SOP) and method of procedures (MOP) established for the critical environments, as well as the formal change control process.


Review daily/weekly/monthly reports and provide feedback and recommendations
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Must be fluent with and possess an excellent working knowledge of MEP systems within critical IT environments including Operational Facilities (warehouses, offices, ect.) and Data Centers.
  • Ability to develop solutions and execute plans on complex projects
  • Ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find creative and innovative solutions to improve quality / reliability and continuously drive down operating costs
  • Extensive knowledge of electricity and medium / low voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Extensive experience with emergency backup systems (generators, UPS, battery backup).
  • Extensive experience with HVAC systems
  • Experience in implementing and the maintaining of Building Management and Monitoring Systems
  • Experience working in Telecommunication Rooms (MDF/IDF) and Data Centers


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar HVAC or critical power certifications
  • Proven experience in designing and maintaining critical systems infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of system security, performance optimization, and disaster recovery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
