Credit Risk Analyst

Wellingborough (hybrid 3 days per week onsite)
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum

If you enjoy turning data into insight that shapes real decisions, this role gives you room to grow, learn and make a visible difference.

You will turn data into insight that shapes how Arkle makes lending, pricing and portfolio decisions. Working with large datasets, you’ll build clear analysis for senior stakeholders and keep core monitoring processes running smoothly.

It’s a hands‑on role in a small, collaborative team where your work has visible impact, your technical skills will grow and there’s a clear pathway to progress within the credit function.

Hours of work are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week. The role requires regular on-site attendance, so you’ll need to be within a reasonable commuting distance of Wellingborough.

What you’ll do

  • Extract and manipulate large datasets using SQL, Excel and Power BI.
  • Turn raw data into insight that supports senior decision‑making.
  • Keep established monitoring processes running well and suggest improvements.
  • Develop portfolio analysis, stress testing and risk trend reporting.
  • Track broker and customer behaviour to identify shifts early.

What you’ll bring

  • Meaningful hand-on experience in credit risk analytics or business analytics.
  • Understanding of asset finance, motor finance or consumer credit, plus working knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act and CONC.
  • Familiarity with external data sources such as credit bureaus and fraud data.
  • Strong Excel and Power BI skills, with the ability to work with large datasets, automate parts of reporting and produce clear visual outputs.
  • Experience using SQL and ideally Python or similar tools.
  • A numerate degree.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management skills.
