Summary of our opportunity
ICG is one of the leading investment managers in the Global Liquid funds space and currently manages over $19bn assets under management across 5 key strategies.
The Credit Operations Team is responsible for the tracking of the funds’ investments, on-boarding of new investors and ensuring that the investors and portfolio managers have accurate and timely portfolio reports.
The current vacancy’s reporting lines would be to the Head of Operations based in ICG’s London head office. The role would suit an experienced individual who primarily has had strong Credit Operations background who understands the mechanics of how CLOs/NAVs/Trade Life Cycle operate. Experience of the loan and high yield bond markets are essential.
Primary Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of this include, but are not limited to:
Leadership / Management
Manage, motivate and mentor a large experienced, global operations team.
Promote a culture of accountability and autonomy.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Lead or support key operational projects, including regulatory change, system upgrades, and business growth initiatives.
Manage resource allocation and budget for the operations department.
Lead and develop the operations team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Drive process improvement and automation initiatives.
Sit on Fund Boards as and when required.
Operations
Oversee operational workflows for Liquid assets.
Liaise with legal, compliance, and external counsel on trade documentation and settlement.
Flexible in dealing with multiple and changing priorities.
Comfortable and confident in dealing with Portfolio Managers and Senior Management.
Operational Risk & Controls
Maintain robust operational risk frameworks and internal controls.
Collaborate closely with the Risk department to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks across all investment and support functions.
Contribute to risk reporting and incident management processes.
Oversee the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and risk frameworks.
Liaise with compliance, audit, and risk functions as required.
Collaboration
Work closely with Investment Operations strategy leads.
Support treasury operations, cash forecasting, and funding requirements.
Ensure alignment between Operations and Finance on Valuations, AUM, Audit requests and Management fees.
Lead onboarding and relationship management with custodians, counterparties and fund administrators.
Operational Infrastructure
Review and optimise operational infrastructure, with a focus on efficiency and scalability, documenting and streamlining processes.
Work with technology team to automate manual workflows and processes.
Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of the firm’s objectives.
Prepare and present operational reports and KPIs to senior management and boards.
Key Requirements/ Qualifications
You will have demonstrable experience of:
Essential
Experience with a buy side Credit Manager.
Relevant background in finance, economics, business, or accounting.
Ability to remain calm under pressure when working to tight deadlines.
Comfortable and confident in dealing with Portfolio Managers and other team members.
A very positive attitude, good teamwork and relationship building skills a must.
Ability to understand complex legal and technical documents.
Desirable
Exposure to systems for loan management.
Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills.
Embraces and encourages change and development.
Enjoys being a part of a team but is able to work independently.
Proactive in solution solving.
