LemFi (Series B) is building the go-to financial app for the Global South.

Moving to a new country shouldn’t mean starting from zero. That's why our team of 400+ spanning 20+ countries is building a financial ecosystem that helps immigrants stay connected to home, build stability, and create wealth regardless of where they are from or where they live.

What began as fast, affordable remittances is now evolving into a complete platform for multi-currency accounts, payments, credit, and long-term financial growth.

With millions of users across the globe, we process over $1B in monthly transactions to 30+ countries, proving that borders shouldn't limit financial opportunity.

The Role

You will be the technical backbone behind our credit decision-making and portfolio performance insights. Your focus will be building, maintaining, and optimizing the data infrastructure that powers underwriting, portfolio management, valuation, and commercial strategy.

You won’t just move data — you will design scalable pipelines, transform raw lending data into high-quality datasets, and enable actionable analytics that drive fast, confident credit decisions.

This is a hands-on engineering role at the heart of our lending business, embedded within the Credit function, working closely with Data, Risk, Finance, and Commercial teams.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Engineer & Optimise: Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines supporting credit risk modelling, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and regulatory reporting.

  • Integrate Data Sources: Connect and ingest data from ledger systems, transaction processors, credit bureaus, open banking APIs, and other third-party providers.

  • Ensure Data Quality: Implement robust processes for accuracy, completeness, validation, anomaly detection, and overall data integrity.

  • Enable Decisioning: Deliver production-ready datasets that power credit decision engines, risk models, affordability assessments, and real-time analytics.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with credit risk, analytics, data science, product, and compliance teams to translate requirements into data solutions.

  • Maintain Resilience: Monitor and optimise data infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability at scale.

  • Document & Govern: Maintain clear documentation of data flows, pipelines, and business logic, supporting data governance and regulatory compliance

Who You Are

  • Detail-Oriented: You care deeply about data accuracy, consistency, and reliability, especially in regulated environments.

  • Analytical: You enjoy solving complex data problems and turning messy inputs into clean, trustworthy datasets.

  • Technically Curious: You seek to understand systems end-to-end and stay engaged with emerging data engineering practices.

  • Collaborative: You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, prioritising shared outcomes.

  • Adaptable: You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and embrace ambiguity with a problem-solving mindset.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, and data pipeline frameworks, with hands-on experience in cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and transformation tools (dbt, Airflow, etc.).

  • Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, managing large datasets, and ensuring data quality for credit or financial analysis.

  • Understanding of credit portfolio KPIs, risk metrics, and lending lifecycle data.

  • Ability to translate complex raw data into reliable datasets for analysis and reporting.
