About The Role
DP World have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller to join us. We’re looking for a detail-driven, proactive professional to manage customer accounts, reduce overdue debt, and support our finance team with precision and integrity. NOTE: This role is based in our Manchester office and is an onsite Monday – Friday position.
How will you contribute:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer accounts, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and reconciled.
Track incoming payments to ensure they align with agreed payment terms, promptly identifying and addressing any overdue accounts.
Work closely with internal teams—including Sales, Operations, and Customer Service—to resolve outstanding payments and maintain strong customer relationships.
Perform thorough credit checks on prospective customers to evaluate their financial reliability and determine appropriate credit limits.
Accurately allocate incoming payments to the correct invoices, ensuring timely and precise account reconciliation.
What you will bring:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a credit control role.
Demonstrated success in managing customer ledgers and reducing overdue debt.
Solid understanding of credit control principles and best practices.
Proficient in using finance and reporting systems such as Sage, Xero, and Excel.
AAT qualification is (desirable not essential).
You express yourself confidently and professionally, both in writing and verbally. You’re tactful and diplomatic when discussing sensitive financial matters.
You enjoy getting to the root of issues and finding practical solutions. You remain calm under pressure and are persistent in resolving queries.
Accuracy is second nature to you. You take pride in your work and ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
You’re proactive, prioritise effectively, and consistently meet deadlines. You bring a positive, “can-do” attitude to everything you do.
You handle sensitive company and customer data with the utmost confidentiality and integrity.
