The Opportunity
Alpha’s Credit team is the heart of its business. It is the busy thriving hub that has enabled us to remain an agile, fast growth business. A small but highly successful team, the department is responsible for managing the ever-growing credit portfolio, whilst forging key relationships with our clients and Front Office employees. Alpha’s Credit team are amongst those most respected within the business, and as such you’ll have high expectations with which to meet. Working within a fast-paced and often demanding environment, you’ll be an integral part of the team from day one, responsible for ensuring the department is running as efficiently as possible. We are looking for a bright, proactive and driven individual to support the Credit Team in a diverse role that combines fundamental credit analysis and operational support. Working closely with senior Partners, this role is integral to the underwriting process for the entire group.
We are looking for someone who recognises the opportunity and is ready to deploy their enthusiasm and flare to make this role their own. Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver concise, articulate and time-sensitive risk reports to senior staff is fundamental to succeed in this role. To do this you’ll need to be someone who has a strong ability to problem solve, rises to challenges, and is capable of earning the trust of a range of different stakeholders. By doing this, you will naturally find yourself not only maximising the value of the Credit department, but also your role within it.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute in-depth financial analysis on companies seeking credit and make decisions in line with best practice.
- Manage multiple credit requests in a timely and effective fashion across the Group.
- Working with our Head of Credit Risk and Senior Partners to untangle complex credit issues and monitor our portfolio of clients.
- Liaising with influencing stakeholders at all levels of the business to ensure that risk is managed in line with our policies.
Skills and Experience Required
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar credit/equity or fixed income analysis role.
- Experience reading and analysing company financial statements and reports to make decisions on credit.
- A proactive approach to problem solving.
- A willingness to create and review processes and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ideal candidate will have proficiency in another language, with German strongly preferred.
