This is a remote position.

Something is broken in the story we’re being told about Britain. Those who want to divide us – who thrive on grievance, resentment and a nostalgia for a country that never really existed – have been dominating the conversation. Dear Britain is a new project launching to change that. Not with anger, but with something more powerful: a fuller, funnier, more honest and more inclusive story about the country we actually live in.

We want to build a community of creators to tell that story. We believe creator networks shape culture. We want to build one that matters.

This is a founding role. The network doesn't exist yet. You'll help build it.

About the role

You'll find, support and develop the next generation of creators in the Dear Britain community – people with real potential who haven't yet fully found their audience, confidence or creative voice.

You'll spot promising creators early, bring them into the network and help them grow fast – through encouragement, feedback, ideas, challenge and honest creative support.

Some people will need hands-on development. Others will just need the right nudge at the right moment. Your instinct will be knowing which is which.

This is a rare opportunity to build something from scratch, at a moment when it matters, with real creative freedom and a mission worth caring about.

What success looks like

  • Emerging creators growing in confidence, consistency and creative quality

  • People feeling energised, supported and stretched by the community around them

  • New creators developing clear voices and stronger audience connection

  • A healthy pipeline of exciting new talent entering the Dear Britain network

  • A creator community people genuinely want to belong to

What you'll do

  • Scout and recruit emerging creators across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook

  • Build meaningful relationships with ~30 developing creators

  • Give thoughtful, practical creative feedback that genuinely helps people improve

  • Help creators sharpen ideas, shape their voice and understand what resonates with audiences

  • Create the rituals, check-ins and moments that make the community feel alive

  • Spot potential early and maintain a strong pipeline of emerging talent

  • Share platform insight, creative inspiration and encouragement that helps creators keep progressing

How to apply

Please send:

  • Your CV

  • A short note on why this role interests you – 200 words max.

  • Three creators or contributors you think are underrated right now, with a short – 400 words – explanation of:

    • why they’re interesting

    • what audience they’re building

    • why you think they have potential

The process will include:

  • A 30-minute introductory call

  • An interview with a short task shared in advance

Dear Britain is a project of Own The Space – a not-for-profit campaign incubator building communication interventions with the potential to create meaningful change quickly.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and identities, and are committed to building a genuinely supportive and creative working environment.

Requirements

  • You have a strong instinct for spotting talent

  • You genuinely enjoy helping people improve and grow

  • You know how to give feedback that is specific, useful and motivating

  • You understand internet culture and platform behaviour deeply enough to recognise what works

  • You make creative spaces feel energising rather than transactional

  • You're organised enough to manage lots of relationships without people feeling forgotten

  • You're proactive, adaptable and comfortable building things without huge amounts of infrastructure

  • You care about Britain and want to be part of changing the story – without being preachy about it

You don't need a background in non-profits to apply.

We want to hear from you if you've developed talent in broadcasting, casting or entertainment. If you've worked as a creator yourself and understand what others need to grow. If you've coached, mentored or built creative communities in any context. If you've worked in culture, media or community building – and you're watching what's happening to this country and thinking someone needs to do something about it – this is that opportunity.

What we're looking for is instinct, energy and a genuine belief that the story being told about Britain right now needs to change.

Benefits
  • 12 month contract with possibility of extension

  • £47,610 p.a. (fixed pay scale, non-negotiable)

  • 35 days annual leave (inclusive of public holidays and grace days)

  • 6% pension contribution

  • Remote-first with access to a London office

  • Regular travel to London, Bristol and Sheffield for team days (travel reimbursed)
